Made some one-stroke cakes :)
I received my first set of pro paints from Metina yesterday. I have to say that Metina can't be human, she must be SuperWoman because shipping was super fast Thank you, Metina!!
Being the face paint junkie I am, I spent the whole day playing with my new paints and makin' cakes. Here's what I made:
The names are in my native language, Chamoru.
Translations:
Puengi - Night
Apehu - Mangrove Leaves/Ferns
Tasi - "TAH-see" Ocean
Rosa - Rose
Mayu - "MAH-dzu" this was inspired by pink plumeria which we call flores Mayu, May flowers
Kalachucha - Plumeria/Frangipani
Some of my practice shots. I'm still working on proper loading technique, strokes, and line work
Thanks for looking

Pahshetti, I envy you so much! Not only can I not bring myself to cut up my own cakes to make splits, but for the life of me I can't make one stroke flowers, and your's are beautiful! So delicate and simple looking!

Thank you, thank you
@nancy! - I used TAG, so easy to work with. I even used the white and black in a 3:1 ratio to make the dark grey in the Puengi cake. Smoosh, smoosh, smoosh and I got that velvety grey.
@Punky - It is scary, but once you dive in it's FUN! I was only able to do it by making sure that I left half of each color untouched. I cut each color in half and made split cakes in the same color family. Then I took the other halves and used them in the stroke cakes. I'm a little OCD so I use a food scale to make sure the amount of each color in my cakes are EXACT. I still have tons of paint to work with and doing it has whet my appetite for more paint. I foresee another order from the shop in the VERY near future

Re: Made some one-stroke cakes :)
Yay! I love them all and specially the names
btw, your flowers look great!
So, here is my story, I started just like you pasguetti, cutting just half the cake and then I wanted to make more splits so i have to order paint again. Once you start you can't stop hahahaha
I am lmbo just picturing paint on the scale hahahaha

Re: Made some one-stroke cakes :)
Love Plumeria. My good friend is a wiz with them, and the pretty little yellow one you painted looks just like my favorite kind. (it's the one that smells the best!)
Re: Made some one-stroke cakes :)
Love them all, also really love the pink frangapani so pretty. I've always done mine in the orange yellow white. thanks so much for share. Nice flowers too
Re: Made some one-stroke cakes :)
Beautiful splits. I love the colors. So vibrant! I am definitely going to have to try tag pretty soon.
Re: Made some one-stroke cakes :)
Love the names and great combinations. I like that there is only three colours in each, sometimes the strokes end up looking so "busy" with five different colours in especially small designs.
Re: Made some one-stroke cakes :)
Thanks for all the love
@maggie - my hubby walked into my craft room saw me weighing the paint, sighed, and said, "What are you gonna do next, start selling dime bags of face paint to the kids at school?" hahahahaha
@Geekophile - Yes, they do smell the best. I grew up with a grove of plumeria trees behind my house and I always thought the pink ones smelled a little too cloylingly sweet. The white ones smelled like magic to me, light and almost ephemeral. I miss home **sniffle**
