FABAIC - Volunteer

Hi All! Has anyone here worked as a volunteer at one of the previous FABAIC conventions? (Or know anything about it....) I am interested in learning more.... (I have not been to one yet, but am planning on making the trip this year WOO HOO!!)

Yeah i am going to be attending this year also this will be my first one, im also curious about it myself. i am sooo excited! im counting down! Hopefully ill see ya there. I think thats what im looking forward to most is meeting some of my fellow FPF friends!

I dont' want to be TOOO hopeful, but...

I MAY be doing FABIAC! I am just DYING to go....just checking into some last minute details and if it all works out...I AM IN!!

Sooo...what is the deal with models?? If I go, can I pick my model from volunteers that I know from here?? Is it just someone given to you?? Still have SOOO many questions....

I would love to go to Fabiac. I even have friends I can stay with so I wouldn't need the hotel. But I'm already commited to going to LaFette this year, and another $350 is just too much to swing. Now $150 I could probably do, but I think I might be too saggy to model

Thanks for the Kudos on the avatar -- (I painted it on myself and it's one of my FAVORITES) Kerry Ann Smith did a demo at my local guild meeting in October and I rushed home to try it out.

I'm actually NOT talking about volunteering as a model -- (Trust me, I would never qualify for one of those....)

I recently took Marela's Mask class and during some down time, I was asking about FABAIC because I've never been - and I was saying that I was hoping to earn enough extra $$ to be able to go. She told me that if I was willing to trade some of my time "working" I could "earn" reduced or free registration by getting on the volunteer list. I would "naughty word-u-me" that would be things like setting up an area, or checking people in at a registration desk etc.
I did get a quick email from one of the girls at Silly Farm - they are so busy with the move that hey haven't addressed the volunteer thing yet.
I was hoping there might be someone on the forum who has volunteered in the past and that could kind of fill me in on any details.

Well whoever is going we should jsut make a new topic or something and have everyone who is going let us all know then maybe we can all make time to meet up and do lunch or something. Cuz here on the FPF were all liek family. everyone has helped me here so much it is very very appreciated. as do i try to help out as much as i can. But i am deff going and i can't wait! for a vaca and to go and meet other FP who love and share the same passion as myself.

@AshleyMarie- I feel the exact same way! I HAVE to meet people from here! It is just a super driving force to be able to hug everyone I can IN PERSON! How truly awesome would that be? Face to fact talking?!?! Can't imagine!

*insert warning here* High energy person - when excited my take my mouth about 5 minutes of super fast talking before I come down...then I just vibrate and have perma-smile. I think if you're part of face paint forum and you go you should wear or display the logo somehow on your person. This way you can all ID eachother. Last year I knew there were a lot of FPF peeps, but had no idea how to meet up with them. I doubt I'm going, but may try to make it for 1 day(possibly preclasses only).

I just sent in my final model application/contract so I've got my fingers crossed. If I'm accepted I am doing the discounted registration so that I can take all of the classes when I am not doing my mandatory 6 modeling for classes. I live in Tampa (hour away from Orlando) but I'm pretty sure I'm staying with my Orlando friend during the convention. I'm looking for model for the competition but I have to make arrangements with an artist to do so. So if you want to do competition, hit me uppp!

No one would want me as a model, so I'll have to find another route:-)

Ok guys still looking for up to 2 more roomies: Ok So far its me and Danielasodero (new here) from San Diego. We are staying from Tues-Monday. Let me know if anyone still needs a roomie. If there are 4 people on the same day, the rate drops to $25+tax a night!

I would so take you up on that if I had a way to go... I hope you all have a blast, and if by some miracle I get to come I will totally look you all up!!!!
