Re: Post Submissions Here!
I'm kicking this one off with my tattoo rose. I hope it's eligible even if it's not on a face... If not, have fun anyway...
Tools:
1/2" Flat brush
small round detail brush
#2 Filbert
Paints:
Paradise Black, Lagoon Blue, Amazon Green, Red, Yellow & Orange. Wolfe Black & Wolfe White
Draw out design with detail brush & Wolfe Black(let dry). You could also use White if you're concerned with bleeding.
Fill in the red areas & yellow areas with a #2 filbert brush
Fill in the blue areas with the #2 Filbert Brush
Fill in the Green areas on the leaves & the yellow areas on the leaves
With Wolfe Black & a #2 Filbert add the deep shadows of the tattoo
Create a black wash using Paradise Black & undershadow the design. Highlight with Wolfe White using a detail brush.

Beautiful Synni!
I thought I'd Tango with this idea
Tools:
#2 Filbert Brush
Small round detail brush
Paints:
Paradise Amazon Green, Yellow, Red, White & Black. Wolfe Black
Using a #2 Filbert and Amazon Green make the stem & leaves at the sides of the mouth.
Using a #2 filbert & red, paint the rose bud
Using a round detail brush add yellow highlights to the stem
Using the detail brush & Wolfe Black, outline the stem & add the details to the leaves & rose(I like to add more pressure & less pressure as I paint these lines giving a purposeful imperfect looking line... if this makes sense).
using the detail brush & a wash of black Paradise paint, undershadow the design. Then load the detail brush with Paradise white & twirl it around on the back of your hand. Use this wash(not as wet as the black wash) and highlight the rose & stem.
Add lipstick(I used Paradise Metallic Red) & you're done.

Holy cow Linda! That's awesome. Such an awesome idea an execution. Beautiful!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Love it, Linda. By the way, I tried your tattoo rose step by step and boy did mine turn out awful. I left out a whole outer row of petals and my rose looked really long and silly. Yours is gorgeous and I want to learn it.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
OK, this is one I've wanted to do for a while & was just waiting for a back to do it on.
Tools:
1/2" flat brush
1/4" flat brush
#2 filbert
round detail brush
Paints:
Paradise red/yellow split cake, Paradise Green/Yellow split cake, Paradise black, Wolfe Black, Wolfe White, DFX Red
With a detail brush, sketch out the idea of the design
Using 1/2" flat brush make the rose. Using a 1/4" flatbrush make the leaves.
Fill in the opening in the skin with paradise black & streak with DFX Red, Wolfe Black & Wolfe white to get the bloodied, muscle, opened skin effect. I did this step several times throughout the design.
Using a detail brush outline the petals & leaves & add details like veins in the leaves. I like to roll the brush & press the brush lightly & heavily to create an imperfect edge.
It was looking like it was missing something, so I added the barbed wire thorn design.
Create a black wash on the back of your hand using paradise black. Undershadow the rose, leaves & vines.
Using a detail brush high light the rose, leaves & vines. Touch up the opening in the skin with DFX Red(make the blood drip down the back), Wolfe Black & Wolfe White.
Done!
My teenage daughter is now looking for an appropriate shirt to wear to church so she can freak her friends out with her new "tattoo"

Re: Post Submissions Here!
I love the rose in the hand!
Thanks all for the complements!
I think it took about 45 minutes.
My daughter got such a reaction at church last night(mind you... 1/2 our church are tattooed & used to be in the clubbing, drugging & drinking scene). Her friends all thought it was real & were shocked I'd let her get a tattoo(heehee). She had a very fun evening & I may have some private jobs
She wants me to give her another one today before she goes to her duel enrollment class at the college... but it's raining

Re: Post Submissions Here!
I love the sugar skull! What do you use for the color? I've always been curious how to get that effect. Also, how long does the colored part last? I'm such a henna novice
Re: Post Submissions Here!
you guys have me scared now.... maybe I'll try something tonight when hubby is back with the car so I can get my stuff out of the trunk. LOL
Re: Post Submissions Here!
