I really want to give some of Lone's big cat designs a go, but I have no idea where to start when painting fur. Help a sister out.

hmmm I don't know what it's caled - but at the risk of looking like an idiot... I use the square brush that has some of the bristles extended out over the main lot of bristles... that doesn't sound right... I don't know how else to say it.. most of the bristles are normal length but they have extended some longer so they leave a raked look. I double dip it or just load some brown and then touch the extended bristles into white for highlighting. Or grey and black or black and white yadda yadda.
Hope that makes sense. If not let me know and I'll find a piccy for you somewhere.
Don't know what Lone uses though... maybe PM her.

Whats your technique for Fur Vlinder-grimeren-schminken-125

it's on this site http://www.starmagic.nl/gallery/77/vlindertijger-schminken it's my step-by-step butterfliger...

I just wipe it dry on a cloth and then in some not too wet paint again...

Or you could use an old round brush that's had it's day & litterally smash it point down on a table so that all the bristles splay out. This makes a brilliant fur brush. Got this hot tip of Nick Wolfe & then he gave me the brush he smashed, got to love it.
