I need a practise head for my facepainting inspirations that keep coming. Can anyone recommend me one, one that wipes off easily or one that doesn't get stained?

Hi,
I got mine from wimex beauty about a month ago. The price is really good and they have good customer service. You can also get slip on faces for it as well.
And about the staining, yes certain colours does stain on it, but as for now I have always been able to remove the remaining stains with either alcohol or acetone (nail polish remover). Although over time I believe those can damage the material, at least that's what I was told. I have the head and 4 slip on faces, so I can practice 4 desingns before I go and clean all of them for the next round.
As far as I know, some got their practice heads from beauty schools, or beaty school dropouts. I am not sure if Metina has one in her forum shop, I haven't seen one, but I could be mistaken.
I hope this helped.

Thank you Laura. I will have a look at the one you got from Wimex. I appreciate it!

You could look for a beauty school dropout!

I got my head from a cosmetology class, it's not quite the same as the Wimex ones but is serviceable - and it was free, since my daughter had it from taking the class. The teacher told me that at the end of the year she often has leftovers that students don't take home. You could check at a local beauty school.

Mine would definitely stain, however before using it I give it a quick coat of hairspray. That provides a barrier so that the paints don't stain. The paint just washes right off nicely.

I got mine at wimex too,I believe all heads get stain, to prevent stains apply hairspray before painting and don't let the paint sit for a long time specially black.

My first one was from Wimex and it stained even with hairspray and trying to get it off with acetone, nail polish remover, paint thinner, soap and water, biz, etc.

So I bought the one from this thread and unfortunately, it was lost or stolen. I'm still working on trying to get another one.

My practice head just came today! I haven't had time (or serenity) to paint it yet. I got the midrange head and practice pad from SillyFarm. The head also has an extra face that can be peeled off (wierdest sentence to write).

I saw a suggestion somewhere (gosh sorry I forget who) to give it a few light coats of hairspray to make a barrier against stains. I am going to give that a try.

I got mine from wowfactorstuff.com and it does not stain. You clean it with a mr. clean eraser. Works every time - no stains at all. There is even a tutorial on how to use it on the website. Worth every penny.

oh, yes, I must agree, def. spray it with hairspray. I forgot to do so with my practice pads yesterday AND I used a Wolf turquois, even after scrubbing it with acetone and alcohol it is still stained. :-/
There are just some colours that stain, so far all snazaroo colours always came off, this was the first time a colour stained so badly, but oh well, lesson learned! lol
