I rely on people seeing my designs walking around on the faces of others. I always paint the kids in the nearest booths to mine - good neighborness AND good advertising!

There aren't always enough kids around to rely on it.... and if there are other face paint booths, they won't know who did the good ones and who did the icky ones. LOL

EXACTLY what I keep thinking too! makes it hard to decide what to do... Although, the word list really does make COMPLETE sense to me.

I know this thread is a little old but today was my first day using a name board instead of photos of designs. I Loved It! I was able to be much more creative and everyone was so happy with their looks. This will be what I do from now on. Smile

I'm glad it went so well with the written sign! I don't use mine for every gig... just the ones where I'm painting my quick designs for a big party like a corporate event and I'm only offering like 10 options. If I'm doing a festival or pay per face event I show pictures and just write on my board that they can pick any of the pictures. Same with birthday parties... I have books I show there.

Great ideas Amanda. I have so much work to do. I need to really make up some nice signs and reorganize my pics for those different occasions. There are so many looks I love but don't have pics of yet. A friend has me coming to a b-day party today, hopefully I'll get some nice pics there. Smile

Take advantage of friends parties as much as you can! It's always easier to ask for photo rights from people you know. Plus a paid gig is always so busy. My goal for the spring time is to have my boyfriends daughter go meet some neighbor kids so I can then use them as face paint guinnea pigs for pictures. Smile
