How is everyone's year going?

Since Ive onlly recently started face painting, I dont know how the seasons work. Just wondering how the new year is working for everyone.

Me, I have 2 face painting jobs in january, 2 balloon jobs in january and one balllon and face painting job in February so far.

That's fantastic hun!!! I'm new to this too but I've been told that January and February are pretty dead. I had one booked last week but it's been postponed until spring now and another the end of next month.... I'd really like to have more gigs right now.

I'm trying to get myself a regular restaurant gig but haven't had much response yet... I'm hopeful though.

I haven't gotten anything as of yet all though I haven't done anything to get something as of yet either. If that makes sense.

I need to update my website and then I plan on sending out a large amount of flyers.

I also have a big add coming out in March.

For face painting... no gigs until the weekend of March 14/15 (then it is two full days!)

Theater ... booked solid until the end of May... Four shows in a row... I'm tired already.

Body Painting is getting more interest and several bookings.

Typically for face painting Jan/Feb/Mar are VERY dead, April will start to pick-up, May till the end of August I have no days off (family have to book me too just to make sure I don't take a booking!), Sept/Oct pretty dead, mid-Nov & Dec booked solid.

So far, I have a birthday party at the end of the month and one mid February.

Okay. Seems just like the same season for bounce house rentals. Which means Im going to be going bezerk

The good thing is I do have a helper for bounce houses.

Same here, pretty much dead until April. A few parties here and there. May-August, busy busy, busy. I have about the same as Shannon (except the Theater part).
I think that's why we have other jobs LOL.

don't i wish i had another job... that's why I started this.... oh well, it'll pick up soon....

I was getting kinda worried until last week when several parties were booked, all in one day - go figure. When the season is slow, it's a good time to check into painting for festivals, parades or tourist areas. Mardi Gras is coming up and anyone in the deep south should be able to keep busy with that. Early spring the festivals and fairs start rolling in, and then you are back into party season. Woohoo! Each year I am in business gets more steady year-round, thankfully.
