I'm going to go right ahead and do it because it's at an elementary school and there will be loads of little ones and my booth will be there with large banners and display boards on full display.

The fee is fairly small.

There will also be high schoolers offering free face painting.

I'm willing to set up and chance it.

But I figured it would be fun to ask the Forum folks about similar experiences and how it all went for you ...

been there done that, I was so busy I never got a break, 8 hrs of non stop face painting, and the parents where happy to pay me, most removed what the free people painted.

For the last three years, I have face painted at a festival offering free face painting. I have a steady lineup all day long.
There are parents who really care about quality face art....and they will hunt you down and find you. I paint a few of the volunteers before the festival begins, and let my work speak for itself.

I agree with both response. Folks have left the free table with a design only to was it off to stand in my line for hours for a full face.
