With the help of Photoshop (which I'm not that wellknown with yet), I am working on a banner.

This is my first design, and I could use your  honest opinion about it.
So, what do you think of it?

Or is this one better?

It is sometimes so very hard to make good use of the space!

I think that your name should not get smaller on the right unless it also starts off small (on the left) OR if it is going towards a focal point of the banner, my eye is instantly drawn to the right of your banner and there is nothing there for me to look at Smile

I hope that is helpful, I love your colors and the simplicity it makes it easy to look at.

Good luck! Very Happy

Hi, it's pretty and clean looking...and I agree with Danny. Looks a bit like the words are trying to leave...The flower might be better with the colors reversed so the shading is darker and the light color on top..on here it looks a bit blurry like that.

well, indeed it does look blurry here, but not in real :S

Anyway, I have been modifying it a bit more, now it looks like this:

But I made another version too, which would you prefer?

Opps, Sorry, without the picture, it seems a little less balanced with it.

No matter what you do, I would have a photo on the banner. People will be attracted to the picture. Children who can't read will know it's face painting. Maybe re-design this to include the photo?

Okay, I haven't said anything, because I don't want to come off as bossy, or negative, but you asked for opinions, so here goes.
I think the color grade is interesting, but the purple lettering kinda gets lost in the purple background.
I don't like the flower emblem, because I see a "face" in it, and it creeps me out. I don't know if you were going for a "face", and it makes sense, but it's a little weird thing I have.

I find faces in random patterns.

They creep me out.

I should seek medical attention for this.

If you keep the "face-y" flower, the shadow behind it is very distracting and lends blurriness, which someone else mentioned.

I don't think you should use a picture of your art yet, because as a beginner (relatively), you will be better than that in five minutes, and won't think it reflects what you can do, therefore you will want to replace it before it wears out.
I've been painting for almost four years and I am just now putting my art on my banner.
I like how you changed the size of your letters to be more symmetrical.

The end.

Lol, I haven't thought of it as a face, but now that you mentioned it, I see what you mean.

But the 'face flower' is the thing I like most, sorry!
I have a black with lilac background version too, but I think the purple-pink version is more bright, even if it looks a bit blurred.

Help, now I can't stop seeing the face! Wink

Haha, sorry.

Ultimately, it's your banner and your business, and should reflect you. If it does, enjoy it!

I see the face too. And I recognize him (her?). It looks like the praying mantis who took up residence on my doorstep all summer. Once, he/she (probably she, because don't they mate and then eat the male??) took a nap in a sandal I left on the steps. So I got down to eye level and took a head-on photograph of a praying mantis flopped down in her "couch."

Creabella, did you come in the night and put purple face paint on my praying mantis???

rthling, we are probably kindred spirits. It would be interesting to meet you one day. We could sit around and NOT drink and see faces anyway ...

Hahaha JJJJJ, yes, I thought your mantis looked so boring! Wink I hope you don't mind???? Wink

Well Diane, at this moment it does, I just fell in love with the logo, after I created it.... Embarassed but I am not sure how long this love last, hahaha, because I rediscovered Photoshop again, and the possibilities are multiple present! Wink
