Wolfe Brothers Books Volumes 2 & 3 Empty Wolfe Brothers Books Volumes 2 & 3

Post by Judy Sat Dec 19, 2009 1:31 am

Hi All,

I'm looking to purchase Wolve Bros cheat books Volumes #2, #3. The Face Paint Forum Shop doesn't carry them and Dotsy's in Canada has been on back order since Aug! Just wondering if anyone has been able to purchase these this fall and if so where. So far the avg price is $15/book or all volumes for $35 (I already have vol. 1 though).

Thanks for any input

Have you checked with Liz Small in Calgary? at Puttin on the Glitz?

Good luck with those. I wonder were these books done when they were part of the Wolfe Company? Now that they have split, I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Can you even get them anymore. Would be good to know.

Thanks Shannon. I checked out Puttin on the Glitz's website and they don't list these books.

Ashley: I saw that they were listed on the Wolfe website, but they are also listed on other websites that have back ordered them. I'll contact Wolfe to see if they actually have them in stock. Thanks

Try contacting Liz personally. If she doesn't have, she might know of a source. Very Happy

Wolfe Brothers Books Volumes 2 & 3 Empty Re: Wolfe Brothers Books Volumes 2 & 3

I had some but sold most of them this summer. I don't usually stock the books. I do have one #2 the Horror Book - if you want it.....cheap!
I actually had considered last month selling off all my personal copies of books but many are autographed so for now I'll hang on to them. (But I am looking for some used Videos or DVD's - Jinny's anyone?).

If Wolfe is on back order they just haven't printed more. They will, the books are very popular. There are several places that one might not know of, or thinks of right off that have them. Many retailers not selling to face painters as their niche market carry Wolfe FX. I'd be happy to offer up referrals if you didn't get info from Wolfe.

Makeup magazine usually has them in their store. www.makeupmag.com

Everyone working with Wolfe contributed designs. The top artists of course were the four main Wolfe artists Brian Wolfe, April Powell, Nick Wolfe and Kurt Drake. The books are owned by Wolfe Face Art and FX company and are not affected by employed artists who contributed.

I'm thinking about getting all 4 volumes of the wolfe bros books but not sure how helpful they are or how you all felt they improved any of your designs? Opinions? worth buying? Or was there one of the volumes that stood out the most?

Thanks Smile

They are all great for inspiration. No text, just photos. So you need to figure out HOW to do it, but really great designs.

I still use the early Wolfe books. There are just designs in there folks love. And the designs work with the face so many designs are good places to grow from change and morp designs to your own. The new book Pretty Faces is geared at new painters.

I have all the wolfe books and I love them. Like others said, they just have pics, no words or products used listed. I actually like this because it challenges me when I'm trying to re-create them. Do my designs always turn out just like theirs? Heck no, but they still look great and they end up being my own personal spin on the designs. Nowadays I flip through them from time to time for inspiration and ideas for new designs for my menu.

Sorry, I'm not willing to part with mine... I still visit them and I also loan them out to my 4-H clowns and clown alley members who are wanting to learn face painting.
