Little Monster Empty Little Monster

Post by JJJJJ Sun Jun 16, 2013 7:50 am

Yesterday I had a non-stop line at a great fest. A tiny little boy, silky blond mop top and round round blue eyes and button nose, was roaming about (under the eyes of his mom) while waiting about 40 minutes. He kept coming over to me and saying little somethings, very sweetly and in the full innocence of age two. He was really no trouble at all, but certainly underfoot, and often nearly under brush! At one point, his little head appeared under my left elbow and he said, "Look at my tongue!" and out popped his little tongue. I thought he might have eaten an ice pop and wanted me to look at a bright green tongue, but, all he was doing was showing me, with pure delight, his tongue Smile (kids get it - life is full of the miraculous, and, WOW!).

When he was almost in the chair, he looked at me through the people in front of him, and in a clear little soft voice, he stated, again so purely, "I love you."

I called it right back to him.

When he sat, he chose a blue monster mask. He was delighted with it, and off he went.

But he was anything but a monster.
