how to display photos?
How do you display your work for people to see what you do and how much you charge? Do you have a display board? art easel? I see so many of you have something with stuff on both sides... i see so many of you have some kind of board or something...
I actually have no clue and came up with my own thing. I use my old portable clothing rack to hang my posters from.... it seems to do the trick but not sure if it looks good enough or not. Sorry i just started today and don't know whot to post a photo of it... but anyways i find it to work pretty good but just curious as to what others use and how it works for them... i like my rack thing because it has two levels... on the top i display the art i do (henna, glitter and body art) and on the bottom are examples of designs in two sizes so far with a sign that says there are more on the table.
thank you.

Re: how to display photos?
I just got a thick presentation board and attach it with eyelets to my gazebo. I use velcro to attach the prices and photos so i can swap them to fit any venue or setting.

Re: how to display photos?
hehehe! Thanks I like what you did and am looking into it for this weekend for my first outdoor show of this year.... I just wondered what do you do if it is raining? does the board get ruined? I really like the idea of changing things around with the velcro! i get so tired of the same things LOL!
Re: how to display photos?
I have not set it up while raining but if you have a gazebo by chance with a attachable wall you could prob move the display inside more were the wall could protect it. I do laminate my photos then stick the velcro to them, so the only thing that would most likely get ruined would be the board they are attached to.

Re: how to display photos?
Here is my display. It is PVC pipe and the pictures are attached with sticky backed Velcro to indoor/outdoor carpet. I use weights and bungee cords to hold down the base.

That is awesome!!! I love it! I wonder if i can get my husband to make something like that for me. looks simple enough to make...
Re: how to display photos?
Thanks! It was easy and not very expensive. The photos can be laminated before putting sticky-backed Velcro on them and then it will be fairly water proof. I thought about putting cement in the base to make it more wind proof but decided against that because now I only have to bring weights if I will be outside in a windy area.
The base detaches and the display fits nicely between the seats of my minivan. If I only want one segment, I can detach the two parts and have a smaller display.
I find it nice for changing out or rearranging the designs depending on the event. It might have been nice to have two different colors of indoor/outdoor carpet to have 2 price points for PPF.

Re: how to display photos?
It would be a great thing for either indoor or outdoor show... i would do one much smaller for my needs... not lucky enough to have a minivan to haul stuff LOL! but i would def add some kind of weight... i would probally do free form so i can move it around easier or well fit in my car better LOL!
Re: how to display photos?
here is a picture of my display board for festivals...its also on a pvc frame. I attach it to the leg of my tent...the photos are laminated and i have phote sleeves on the banner it self ..the people that did my banner put the photo sleeves on for me with commercial grade double sided tape...i can change out the pictures to suit the event. and here are my small ones...i make small wallet size photes 9 to a page and laminate the page and use tape to hold it on my small banners for parties and restraunts.

Re: how to display photos?
Well, I really ha,ven't started a real business yet, but I am trying to get something started.
So at this point I made my own display myself.
It doesn't look really professional, but it's a start.
Next Friday I will have my first gig with this display, so we'll see how people react!

Re: how to display photos?
I don't have a photo of mine yet but I'll try to remember next time I'm home. I have a really little board on a little A-board chalk board with 10 laminated and velcro'd photos so I can change them up.
This is the board: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Medium-Pine-A-Board-Chalkboard-Blackboard-Pavement-Sign-70-x-40cm-/251273386069?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a810f9855
