Princess costume- need your opinion Empty Princess costume- need your opinion

Post by FunnyFacesCC Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:37 pm

After a recent request to dress up for a princess party, I've been thinking I should invest in a worthwhile costume and promote "princess parties" as an upgrade. So far, I think I've settled on a Cinderella ball gown to start with, however, I heart beauty and the beast! Plus, with brown hair and brown eyes, I can probably pull Belle off better than any of the other princesses that come to mind.

The yellow Belle gown I found is lovely, but I can't imagine moving around in all those ruffles. Do you think kids would get excited over Belle in her peasant costume (Blue and white dress with apron)? It looks just like in the movie, and it would be SOOOOO much easier to move around in for face painting and balloon twisting. What do you think?

Thanks!

Don't go Disney. Create your own persona.

I don't do costumes. Nobody likes a fat princess.

I could maybe get away with being the pumpkin that was turned into a carriage. But that's it.

How is your singing voice? They might expect you to break into song if you dress as a Disney princess. Smile

I agree, be your own version of a Princess. That way you have some flexibility with wigs, shoes, gloves, voice, make up and you are already pretty so should be easy. Smile

Here's a wild idea: how about a Fairy Godmother character? It would fit into the theme of turning girls into princesses... Could be a really fun persona!

I agree, just go to goodwill...they always have used prom dresses that are priced really low. I found mine for like 5 or 6 bucks! You can buy a tiara in the wedding section at Hobby Lobby. I bought mine for $12 with a coupon for 1/2 off (originally $25) I will post pics later, may give you some inspiration. Smile

Forgive me, I'm super sick and not really feeling up to trying it on for photos...hope this gives you an idea. I originally had another dress that I was going to alter but it ended up being to much work. This one fits perfectly. I added a cape to hide my tattoos and add a bit more coverage since the dress is strapless.

Make the choice nice!
And give it some spice!
Curlicues, hems, glitter belts and corsages
Outlandish earrings and inconceivable necklaces!
Girls go for the drama, the sparkly and fun
Monster high? Barbie fairies? That's what I'm thinking of!
