Newbie FABAic questions... Empty Newbie FABAic questions...

Post by Doe Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:31 am

OK, I want to do this. For myself and my 12 year old daughter. I looked at the options for taking several local MUA classes and a) it's freaking expensive and b) my daughter can't attend.

So...

1) Have any of you brought your young artists to FABAIC and what was their experience?

2) Did you stay at the hotel where the convention is held?

3) Are there other hotels in close enough proximity to not need a rental car?

4) Does anyone want to room with me and my 12 year old? We aren't particularly tidy - but, we're clean and don't stink...

I plan on going this year also. with my aunt! I hope we can start a post with everyone going from here. it would be great to meet. Have not been to the new site. only Orlando ..it is so much fun! and there are several kids. Can't wait to meet those from here going. maybe we can come up with a pin or something to wear...so we will know who to look for. I have to call and check on the info on rooms etc still and sign up!! hopefully this next week i will do that. anyone signing up the Wednesday before the show?

Does the Face Paint Forum have a pin or button that we can purchase to advertise that we are Face Paint Forum addicts?
It would also advertise the Face Paint Forum Shop.
Or,
we can have code words....
If I walk up to you and say,
"I just had an orange and had my pants pressed."
Then, you would respond with,
"My uncle is sick, but the highway is green."
And, then, I would have confirmed that we met on the Face Paint Forum!

Still planning a breast reduction for May, so unless the stars align, I will not be able to attend.
But, if I did...
"I just had an orange, and had my pants pressed!"

Oh boy I want to go to FABIC this year! I've been painting about a year and last year's convention felt a little premature since I was no where near breaking even on all the supplies I had purchased, much less a profit. This year it's a different kind of budget thing, a week in Fiji for my honeymoon in March or 4 days at FABAIC in May- it's a tough call!

the 1st time i went i think was about 5 years ago.. i had NEVER face painted! learned a lot. and had a great time. I think this will be my 3rd time going. did not get to go last year. and only went for 2 day the year before . no classes , just shopped etc. i had been face painting on a cruise ship the week it was on and got off the cruise ship on a Saturday and it ended on a Sunday. but still had fun, just looking. those people are amazing!!!!!

LOL - If I could schedule a breast reduction for May, I certainly would!

Right now, DD and I are having to plan our move date (bye bye house... :-( ) so, I'm still dreaming - but, trying to figure out if FABAIC is an achievable dream. We haven't had any kind of celebration or vacation since STBX walked out on us almost a year and a half ago.
