Paradise Colors

SO I was watching some youtube tutorials and notice a new facepainter named mimic or something like that. And I noticed that she was using Paradise colors and I noticed that it seems so easy to apply. You dont really have to pounce the sponge it looks like shes just rubbing it all over. What are your thoughts on Paradise?

Wonderful paint. Smells like coconut (doesn't bother me) Great for bases and blending. It is the only paint used by Mark Reid and Jinny.

I have mostly TAG but I tried Paradise because I wanted a better pink. I
really do like it, it is much easier to get the consistency right because it's so creamy

I have Paradise white black and red, I use the white and black anytime I need to sponge white or black(because I don't like Wolfe for sponging), and I use the red for Iron Man...it's a deeper red, almost burgundy. I like the way it smells, and I really like the way it covers, but I seem to go through it pretty quickly. I couldn't use it for line work like Mark Reid though....I've tried and I just don't like the consistency for my lines.

i like it too.
So easy to blend and you can double load or triple load your sponge with them.
i rather use Wolfe for lines work though, unless is Wild Orchid i like the lines with that color.

I only have the prisma cakes, I do like them for flatbrush, but they take a little getting used to, and sometimes I will use the black just because its there, oh and I like how big the cakes are, makes it easier to load your brush

Mimick has been around for several years...she was just off of you tube a while and redid her you tube page...she is remarkable...and I just started to slowly make the switch to paradise...but still love my dfx colors...for line work...most of the dfx colors are great for line work...they blend well but you have to work really fast and have just the right amount of water on your sponge...I do love the way paradise smells..like your on the beach....

I love paradise - but then again I love all the professional brands of paint. I have all the prismas but really only use the hot and cold often enough to justify having them. Don't get me wrong I like them too, and play with them at home but kids just don't seem to pick my designs with them.

Easy to blend, easy to use on a brush eg. harder than Tag on a brush and requires a more frequent reload - but not too much more just because it is creamier and Tag it more watery so tag for example goes a little further in a strait line (Its still easy I am just trying to compare so I am nitpicking here)

I think easyer on a brush than Kryolan - again my opinion as I envy those who get Kyolan on a brush. It is not as sheer as kryolan as a base - I think kryolan goes a little bit further.

It dose tend to suck up light colours layered over it more than most paints in my expierience, as in white and light yellow etc.

It dose smudge sooner in the heat I have found compared to Tag non metalic colours - I Live in Australia and tommorrow I am painting in 42c for example I will be using more Tag and even then it will be hard.

It is very easy to blend both on a sponge and on a brush.

It dose have a strong smell that I like, but many face painters dont like the smell. I have never had a customer complain about it.

All paints have there strengths an weaknesses you know how it is. I like paradise and use it . My working kit is about 40% paradise

But I also like Tag,Fab,Snaz, Kyolan, Wolfe, DFX and Face Paint Australia -as of yesterday got a new brand to start loving (there are only two brands I don't like ) and I am a very bad influence on face painters so ... Get some (he he)

Being creamy how that paint acts during the summer?

No It actually dosn't goop like the tag in the pots. it gets slightly softer but in terms of just sitting there in the pot It behaves the best. Where I have a problem is kids will often rub there brow with the back of the arm in summer and Tag seems to hold up a little longer in High heat than the paradise to that abuse. But ultimatley Tag will go in that heat too.

Creamy is its texture where as you can kind of (words lacking here) pool say a tag colour into a sort of liquid say white or black. Paradise is more like a cream. its hard to describe. but it is different.

Beach berry is an excellent, almost true red.

I like dark pink

I think most painters like and find a use for wild orchid. white as it will give you an idea of its blending capacity (and if you don't like it you will still use white)

As for the rest depends what you paint the most I use alot of pinks and purples butterflys I - paint more pink butterflys than neon
storm cloud - Batman (I mix it with black)
I like lime don't know why I just do.
teal ( I like teal in lots of brands- lol)
I use brown for horse's, spiders and making burple- why dosnt someone just make burple?
black - for dry brushing, but not really for anything else

It really depends what you have in mind on using it for, I am an addict... I like about 90% of them. I will generally like anyones suggestion on it. I already like the two above... There is a little voice going but this one is nice too and that one (which is why I have such a massive kit - sigh)

So I would say if you just want to try it most people find a use wild orchid and white to try and use up.

I use mostly Paradise for my basework. It's a cream based cake makeup & blends wonderfully. I usually pounce mine & don't streak it on (unless I'm going for a fur look). It works great with a brush as well & you can even do likework with it if you're patient enough to learn how(I like to substitution Paradise black for Wolfe black when I paint very young children since it washes off easily). It won't fade, chip or crack when covering large areas, so it's perfect for body painting. It smells like coconut, but doesn't have coconut in it (so if you're allergic to coconut you're ok). The greens & teals do stain but no more than other brands. I like their metallics also. They do not make good onestroke cakes(in the small onestroke containers) because they blend too easily but the do make good rainbow cakes (called Prismacakes). You can use the prismacake size for onestroke). They also are pretty inexpensive & last longer than other brands. They also work well in hotter climates where other brands tend to melt & get gloppy.

I love Paradise. Agreed it is great for children. Except the metallics I use all the colors. It is not a cream based makeup. It is a moist cake makeup. Most people use it too wet. Once you master it you will find it very vivid and opaque and will ponce less. It work very well for line work. Not having wax in in like the asian made brands mean you have to be more masterful with your stroke skills as you can not rely on the paint to pull out.

Ijust finally played around with my new kryolan and paradise, I already have DFx, TAG and wolfe, and Im pretty sure Paradise is now my favorite, it blends , it swirls, it smells great, the containers are pretty lol, loove them
