"Before" and "After" (addiction) Kit Pictures

We were talking on another thread about sharing "before" and "after" (so far ) kit pictures. So if you have a pictures of your first face painting supplies (simple snaz kit, klutz kit, or whatever) and what you have "today" (before you obsessively buy any MORE ) Please share.

Oh--I will take pictures of my kit slowly growing over the last 6 months--But it will have to wait a couple days till I get home!

heres what i started with, and painted at my daughters elementary school carnival in april, bought the paints about a month prior to practice


heres what I have now, Im trying out everything because how do I know which is my fave til I try all the brands?
as you see the Snaz are still there in the back corner, I use them fro bases, and Im awaiting a Kryolan order, to see if they will blend as softly for bases

Thanks for sharing! I noticed the tag "brave" base blender in your collection, how do you like it? I'm intrigued but afraid to invest, I can't picture what I'll do with it.

ninaschau I also seen you had the watermelon base blender. I have been looking at that one also but wasnt sure how do you like it?

the brave, I didnt end up liking as a base, but each two edge colors make nice one-stroke butterflies , which I learned from Denise Cold stepbystep somewhere, and the watermelon, I got because it looked so pretty, the only thing I have used it for is neon-pink one-stroke roses, so i would not buy the brave again, because many other one strokes also ake great buterlfies, and the watermelon, im undecided

Thanks for sharing, Nina! You make me feel 'not-so-crazy,' now...to see how someone else has squirreled away paint like I have!

Ok, so this is going to look like I have a serious problem but I swear I don't! I just have a new found love for painting. So...I started with this small Klutz kit....



And over the past 6mths? I have grown to this kit....







I justify it by telling myself that I have never had any other hobbies...painting is it for me! I do, however, have quite a few parties under my belt already. Close to 30 if I had to put a # to it. I'm sure that's small to alot of you but it seems like a great start to me! Anxious to see everyone else's growth....or hoarding! lol P.S. My kit would not be this big if it haden't been for all you enablers! I want MORE!!!

Thanks ninaschau here is a break down of what is in it, didn't want to unpack lol!
In the top compartments I have - q-tips, glitters and glitter gels and detailz, business cards and holder, gems and glue, camera and extra batteries, receipt book and pen, small extra mirror, eyelashes, sponge sticks and dot wands, Martha Stuart pouncers and some big sponges I picked up from Hobby Lobby (great for covering big area), stipple sponges, spray bottle of water, Ben Nye LiquiSet and Graftobian stage blood, Altoids, aspirin, headbands and bobby pins.
In the bottom I have - all my stencils (about 12 different stencils in a ziplock bag), large mirror, folder with MSDS sheets, binder that has pics of cheeky art, brush holder (cube tube) and brushes, newly dyed black sponges and snazaroo petal sponges in a mesh bag,extra mesh bag for dirty sponges, lint brush (for glitter clean up), 2 black hand towels (dyed with my sponges), hand sanitizer, starblends in black, red and white with the smoothie blenders, and glitter spray for the girls hair (picked up some extra cans from the Halloween clearance sale), alcohol wipes and diaper wipes. I also have the foam board/duct tape table that I made for on top of my FatMax and I picked up a shower rod that tightens to the height I need to support under the lid/foam table. I love my kit but I have still got to finish my display board...not liking it much at all! I will try to post a pic of it later (it is not finished) maybe you guys can give me some suggestions?

Wow, Erica...you DO have a problem... Seriously, you have a wonderful kit! Thanks for listing your stuff too. I Like that shower rod thing that tightens for lid/foam table support idea...I think I will have to try that.

Awe thank you Valerie! Your pretty great yourself!!! It is amazing to watch all us newbies grow and get better every day. I hope everyone has a successful summer this year! I just confirmed my first big gig for the summer and I am on cloud 9 right now!!! This is the event I just booked http://www.ribfest.net EEEK!!!!

P.s. the shower rod has saved my Fat Max lid several times already...kid's like to lean on it! GRRRR!!! I wrapped the paint splatter duct tape around it to match my board.

I love my little black spongies Ash! You should give yours a dip... I ordered some of the green sponges (they are now black to) and I really prefer the yellow ones...idk their brand name but I got them from jestpaint. The greenies are just a bit TO soft and get my fingers painty. I hate when I get paint under my nails! About the festival, yes it's one of the biggest in our area...gets bigger every year. I hope I didn't sound as anxious and pathetic as I felt when I spoke to the coordinator. I really am nervous as hell and it isn't until July!!! Anyone have a "do and "don't" list for fairs?

do have a line worker, my second only gig was 5 hours of straight painting, 400 kids in attendance, the line was constant, and the parents were sneaky

Well I am getting my hourly rate from them, 3hrs a day for 5 days. And I always have my 11yr old help. I pay her $10 per party. She will probably try to shake me down for more with this one though... I will be painting just whoever bought tix. I was told I could put out a tip jar to.

How many sponges do you have Erica? I think I'm at about 30 but I know i'll need way more because lots of people do one sponge per child. And omg Erica thats amazing! You have plenty of time youll do great!

Barb, What a deal on sponges! wish they were the "softer" kind....they look like my Wolfe sponges that I'm not too crazy about.
