License and more licenses...

Hi everyone,

I am planning to get a business license in my city, but in the near future, I would like to work outside gigs. Would I need to get a license for every city I work in? How did you all do it? Thank you in advance.

Btw, I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, if that helps...I'm a little befuddled by all the info I've read, I'm a little cross-eyed.

I don't have a business license. Just a DBA. If you will be partaking in large events where you would be a vendor paying a booth fee then you more than likely will need to get your own Tax ID number.

I also paint in a park with a special county permit.

I have an occupational license for the town I live in, but most of my work is in surrounding towns. As far as I know, nothing else is required here in KS.

In Delaware I'm getting a business liscence as a 'sole proprietership'. Delaware is a pretty easy state to file for businesses and such (lots of big companies are incorporated here), but I've heard Cali is a NIGHTMARE. Good luck!
