I'm Officially a "Professional" Body Painter (I've been paid:-)
I've actually had 2 paying body paint jobs in the past 2 months! Up till now it's been all trade inquiries or people looking for a freebie (oh & the weirdos... Uh no I won't paint your.... my brushes aren't that small )...
Both designs are football jerseys (I've now dubbed the football jersey the Spiderman of body painting 'cause everyone wants them).
Pro shoot of the NY Giants Jersey:
Non-pro shoot of the jersey I did today(I'm waiting for the pro-pics).

Awesome Job!!!how long did it take? what did you charge for the 2nd pic? I haven’t done body painting yet but I hope to try it one day in the future. I was wondering if there is much of a market for that as an individual (in the US). I would think it’s mostly corporate functions where they hire a company that has a “team” of painters available. Love the ‘sorry i don’t have a paintbrush small enough” comment. I will remember to use that if I ever get one of those “requests”.

awesome work girl! You are very talented.

The 1st one took about 2 hours. She was a fidgety model & cell phone distracted. She needed a smoke & really wanted it over before it was done, but she was happy w/ the results, so it's all good
he 2nd one took 1 hour. It was pretty fast using a Kabuki brush. It took a few layers to get the paint to fully cover her skin. I made stencils w/ stock paper & printed images from google for the word "COACH" & the numbers. This sped things up a lot & helped make the lettering look good.
LOL, my small paint brush quote is a direct rip-off of Perry I memory banked it for rude clients at festivals asking for me to paint their weenie....

Oh I forgot to say, right now I don't know what the going rate is for body painting (I'm not Vargas... or Mark Reid... LOL). My market looks like it can bare $250 for a torso/ simple design like a jersey. I'm asking for more if we're getting into more coverage or detail. I've been asking for $500 + for full body depending on what they want, but right now I've had no takers. I'm finding it's hard to find people who want to be body painted/have the funds to do it....

Wow - I had no idea people would pay that much ($500.) but I have noticed that when people have a lot of money.....they’re usually willing to spend it on things I would never dream of spending it on. You did an awesome job!

Wow, LInda, great work! I love the shading on the last one (those small lines on the sides)

well..it's about time you got paid! I've never done a bodypainting for someone..only contests...people don't even want to pay 200 euro for a complete bodypaint over here...I've asked 150..but even then they don't want to pay it...
Re: I'm Officially a "Professional" Body Painter (I've been paid:-)
Well, I also am sooo busy with family & work that I just don't have time to paint for free (even bodies) unless there's a real substantial advertising value to it. I've only done 2 freebies, but I don't want to devalue it. If I was in a mean rush to build a portfolio, I might, but I figure in time it will build itself (I hope). I'll get my body painting fix at conventions... LOL

Awesome job! I just finished a Jets jersey last week and am waiting for the pro shots! I'm hoping I can get more higher end work. Most of the body painting I've been paid for has not been more than $100 at the Taboo show, so I'm crossing my fingers!!!!
