Woohoo!!! At the egg hunt I painted at, the bounce house rental guy started asking me about my paints. I thought he was worried about the kids' skin and that I wasn't using cheap dangerous paints, so I proudly told him all my paints were water based cosmetic grade etc. Nope, he didn't care a lick about the oids' skin - he was worried about the paint gettin on his inflatables! Grrrrr.

I would never said anything about "PALMER" face paint, that is the only brand you can find in WALMART, they have been a long time in the market and a lot of face painters use that brand, you can get in trouble with walmart and with palmer.

I would better say "Acrylic" and "Non toxic" that is what I think you wanted to mean right?

I didn't mention a specific brand and in no way projected Walmart in a bad light. It's important for people to understand that everything labeled "face paint" is not the same. Many people believe because it has those words written on it, it must be safe.

My husband posted on FB "my landlord is a liar because..." no names, landlord sued us and it costed us $5.000 to be out of the trouble and had to delete the post, if a company labeled his product as a face paint and they said their product is a cosmetic grade and skin use safe, we can't said anything against it if we can't prove it, I love your art and I am so proud you have the chance to represent us out there, just don't put yourself in the eye of a big company that can hurt you really bad.

Thank you so very much for your educational PSA, Whitney.
I will go on record to say that Palmer "Face Paint" products have caused me to itch, burn, and finally, after about 20 minutes, I broke out in small watery blisters.
Plus, it sucks as face paint. It is a combination of watery sliding grease with lumps of pigment.

I am holding all my feelings inside.

My head will explode from holding it all in.....NOT!

I have a brain, and I have a mouth.
There seems to be no filter in between.
Stuff just falls out of my brain, even when I wish I would not have said what ever just came out.

I am working on my filters. It's a good thing that I am usually attempting to find the bright, humorous side of things.

Awesome job Whitney, it drives me livid here in Canada it happens alot alot. I see it everywhere.
Once at a massive event 10 face painters dabbing there brushes and squeezing their acrylic bottles to get more color I was furious. 10 face painters like they can't read the bottles.
I lose out on jobs because I charge more then the ones who use acrylic and the parents complain to me about my cost and go and hire the others that are cheaper and use acrylic paints. It needs to be put out there and parents have to know. I mean we don't by BPA plastic bottles. Yet its acceptable to put that on our childrens faces. They need to know because they son't know what to look for and I always inform parents about my paints and what to look for as well. Last year a girl went into the hospital at a festival I was t because some other face painters raising money for some unknown charity painted her legs as tubber boots I saw it and then 2 days later she came and told me what happened and got painted by me with my paints.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!

It's very frustrating! I'm hoping the newscast helps, but so far, I haven't received a single phone call from it. People here kinda seem not to care.
