Safety Poster Empty Safety Poster

Post by wmeventservices Fri Mar 16, 2012 5:21 pm

I'm sick of the public here being completely negligent when hiring face and body artists. They have no concept of safety and legal issues. I've made a poster to help educate the public and intend to circulate it as much as possible. It's free for any of your use if you like.

Is the poster chopped in half on everyone's screen or just mine?

Mine too, but when I clicked on the picture, I could see the whole thing.

Nice job!
Are all of the photos yours? That would be my only concern about using it.

It looks fantastic though!

No they aren't. I'm in the process of tracking down the owners. Only one of the pics are mine and the rest belong to others. If anybody has pictures of horrible face painting that they don't mind me using I'd be appreciative. I wanted to use some from when I first started, but my computer as crashed since then so all of those are gone.

I like it!

However, you do need to source your images. I know that the first picture you used was actually posted on this forum a while back. It was given to the poster by the person whose child was affected (if I recall correctly). I would also add a few pictures of the paints that are not acceptable for use on the skin (acrylics, etc.).

Thanks for making this. I am sick of it too, and I think that this is a great way to educate people.

Post by pjhamel Fri Mar 16, 2012 6:43 pm

Sorry for double posting, but I just found this and had to share it.

This is not mine. I was hired for the same event less than a month after I started face painting. I got there with my paradise and snaz paints and found out that there was another face painter there who was using palmers paints and doing this quality of work.

I know I was pretty bad back then, but my line completely wrapped around both my table and hers (don't ask my why they had us right next to each other). The only reason she ended up getting any business was because I had a reaction to something I ate and had to leave because I couldn't stop throwing up.

Back to the point, however, as this image is sourced, you can probably use it. It isn't a horrible full face design, but yes, that atrocity is supposed to be a spider. Maybe if you compared it with of Pashur's 3D spiders, it would have the impact you are looking for.

I am home sick this evening, so I will try to find you some other images with sources.

Um, Whitney? Shouldn't Contact Dermatitis cause
permanent scarring?
Not permanent scaring?
Well, of course it would scare the snot out of me if I had permanent scarring.

(Sorry, I don't mean to offend your sensibilities regarding this serious educational PSA you have illustrated and created so well. I am just nit picky about spelling. )

Great poster!

Another grammatical error - "do they take what their doing seriously?" should read "do they take what THEY'RE doing seriously?"
I'm not meaning to be rude either, you just miss things sometimes when you look over it too many times!

Great Information, very informative.

Just a question Whitney.

I was wondering I am under the impression (correct me if I am wrong) that all neon face paint colors are not FDA compliant. Does that mean you do not use any of the neons?

it probably disappeared because it was posted 3 years ago. many older photos are gone, i'm guessing they are either auto-deleted or manually deleted by the moderator, due to limited space on the forum server.
