No poof in the poofer

Hi All

Just got my new 'poofer' for glitter and I'm not exactly sure how it's suppose to work. There is a small hole in the end that I made a bit bigger so the glitter could actually come out, but I don't seem to be able to 'poof' the glitter out of the darn thing.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well... you aim and squeeze, glitter flies out all over the place, you dust yourself off and start over!

I have some poofers but don't use them that way. It hurts to squeeze them.

Make sure the poofer is not too full. Pour our a little into another container. Also, the hole might not be quite large enough. Don't go crazy, but I take a small paper clip and slip the wire into the hole and rotate just a bit. You don't want to do it too much or too much will come out.

Rotate, poof, rotate, poof until just the right amount comes out. It doesn't take much.

That's a lie, Shannon - you can't dust glitter off of yourself - it's there pretty much for good! Sometimes I have glitter on the inside of my elbow or at my hairline for DAYS afterwards...haha.

I had to adjust the hole size a bit - MAY have made the one with blue glitter a bit big, so now I have to tilt, aim, and poof gently, as opposed to squeezing the bejeezus out of the white one!

I have found that I have to put my finger over the hole and shake the bottle to bring some glitter into the nozzle, then it poors everywhere!

Kristal - That's why they say glitter is the, um, herpes of makeup. At least that was my friend's excuse for passing on the glittering finishing touch to a mask.

I think you have to poof it quickly and firmly though...maybe you are doing it too cautiously?

I'll try this and make the hole bigger.

Is the purpose of a poofer just to spread it all over the place or can you actually direct the glitter?

Well... it more or less just poofs it. You can aim, and get most of it in the general area, but glitter, really, just goes where it feels like.

The bottles I have I use in my glitter tatt kit - I made the holes bigger and use them to pour out a little where I want it.

To apply to faces I use a eyeshadow applicator, dip in the bottle, then tap it exactly where I want it... more precise application I will touch and press it where I want.

I still prefer using a brush

Yep... that works too. But, the puffers poof it all over the face which is sometimes a desired effect... at least for MOST little girls...
