Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
All but one of my cakes of DFX have a lot number (supposedly a sign of fake product).
I emailed the vendor... Paint & Glitter in Tulsa....Wonder what they'll say, if anything?

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I also emailed DFX directly....Paint & Glitter in Tulsa is listed as a "safe" vendor, but that's where mine came from! Hoax?? I wonder.

I am certainly suspicious...

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I saw this info posted on DFX's facebook page...haven't looked at my stock yet. I think they can be listed as a safe vendor if they go thru their stock and remove any unsfafe product and report to DFX. Anna from jestpaint said she had to remove 90% of their stock.

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I just looked more closely at the label of the legit one and the illegal ones. The legit label is different than the others...ALL the others list exactly the same ingredients for every color...can't be or they would all BE the same color.
I hope we can get real product for replacement....somehow I feel like we'll be screwed...and I just spent 75.00!

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum

I'm feeling a little foolish...

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Well crap...it figures that 8 out of the 11 pots of DFX I just purchased all have that lot#
Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
holy Cow all but 2 of my Diamond FX are 'fake!!!' Some are from wowfactor, some from metina. I never thought to compare the label on the back b/c I was always buying from a 'proper' vendor. Metina, do you have any info/news for us??!?
Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I was soon going to purchase some DFX...thanks for posting, I probably wouldn't have heard about this otherwise. Gonna wait until this clears up, just to be sure.

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I'm so glad I mostly buy Wolfe! I bought one DFX metalic from JestPaint (I think) and it says Lot 101. You're right, Griffin, it looks a little blury like a photo copy. I'm so glad that is the only one I have! But OMG I have used it on countless unicorns for hair!
I've got a Wolfe one too so I'm not short, but feel like it is money wasted! Wolfe from now on for me!

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Here is the message from DFX
Check the labels on your containers to see if they look like the ones below. These are on the suspected products in question.
The fake paints may come in a plastic bag with a label on the bag.
They may also come as usual but have lot numbers on the labels.
The originals have NO lot numbers...the space is blank after the word LOT.
Metina will look into this as soon as she gets home.

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I have two fakes, a white 32g and a black 90g, but I do think it's important to note that Diamond FX didn't do this. I'm still going to buy stuff from Metina, and I'm still going to buy Diamond FX...I'm just going to make sure it's not the fake stuff before I pay for it and have it shipped to me. It would be extremely unfortunate if people blacklisted either DFX or the shops they purchased them from, because they aren't the bad guys. I'm sure soon they'll get to the bottom of how this happened and they will take legal action. I chatted with Eugenie @ Diamond FX over facebook this morning about it and she asked me to email her so she has it for their case against whoever did this once they figure it all out. I'm sure she wouldn't mind me posting the email address for all of you to do the same. It's klantenservice@diamondfx-faceart.eu
I went ahead and attached pictures as well.

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Metina buys all of her paints from Eugenie@ DFX the legal US distributor. She doesn't pick it up in Alleys or anything. She will look into it and hopefully everything will be worked out soon.
We shouldn't get our undies in a bundle until we find out a few more things

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I just checked some of my paints... Most are blank after the LOT, but some say LOT 008 - are they fake then???
Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
As I just got home from a job, all I can say at this point is that I buy my DFX from the exact same person that I have for the last three years. Elena Bonifaz, the US Distributor of Diamond FX. diamondfx.biz
I will send them an email today and call them tomorrow to find out what is going on.

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Sorry. that is not true suzy.. She buys from Elena. not Eugenie!!! i'm Eugenie!! I'm the Account manager for all sales from DFX. Elena is mearly a distributor!
I'm second near the CEO from DFX
Sounds arrogant, sorry, not my intention, but Metina does not buy from me, but from Elena

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
I would assume though, that this product must be coming from Lucky Art? The company in China that produces the paint for Wolfe, DFX, TAG, et al.
Other than NOT being DFX from DFX, is there a chance of contamination or other issues?

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Shannon,
I spoke with Anna from Jestpaint.com and emailed Eugenie. Both Anna and Eugenie said NOT to use the 'fake' DFX. That they cannot guarentee contamination, ingredients, etc.

Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Shannon...That's what I'm wondering. I have 2 gigs coming up and I can't afford $70.00 to replace mine at this time.
Re: Fake DFX warning on WCFP Forum
Mine was purchased well over a year ago... guess I'll go look at the labels.
