Here's my attempt at a steampunked glove.

I actually painted this at 1:00 in the morning coz I had an attack of insomnia! Didn't have any picture refrences or any plan, just started at the fingertips and worked up. I got to a point where it was kinda taking too long and I did start to get tired and loose interest, so consequently rushed it in the end. Now looking at it I would have liked to add more detail etc but overall I'm kinda pleased with it.

Hi guys! Quick drop in and I saw this one! Unsure if I will get a chance to paint in theme so this won't actually qualify! I was introduced to steampunk last year when my publisher said "we'd like a steampunk henna book from you"....Ummm...ok...what??! But after some research it's actually a good seller and it was great fun to do! Here is some of what came out of it!

This design tho is not in the book, but I did for the photoshoot...


I do a comic book convention every year and this was a hit and there were alot of steampunk costumes out there and even a club. Considering the size of Winnipeg, I was impressed at the 'legs' this movement has!

AND I gotta say......as much as I'm loving a busy summer...miss you guys!!!!! If I'm really lucky, maybe I'll get a chance to do something in paint before the weekend!! Cross fingers for me!

I've been sick on and off, migranes and cluster headaches and now a head cold. I painted a bit lastnight just need to find the energy to get them out of the camera.
I painted at a comic book convention a few months ago, didn't make much money but the event was great and we had 2 balls we attended. One was goth/zombies and the other was steampunk. I'll try and dig out a picture, most are blurry never give a camera to a 14yr old to catch important memories

Yup...love the comic book conventions! Great creative crowds, but ususally they are already wearing a costume that they have spent a year building...not always up to alter that hard work with something out of theme. I'm not a good enough or well known enough painter to even begin to think about ever going to the 'mother' of all comic book cons in San Diego, but someday I'd like to shoot for a bigger one like Dragon Con. Gonna be a couple of years before I can dream that big! LOL

Never heard of steampunk before but I'm just loving it! You're all amazing and soooo talented women!!! (I'm a bit scared to post a pic but I'll try to paint something tonight... without my two little devils running around )

Here is my attempt! I wanted to do a necklace but I coudlnt find anyone to paint, so I painted my inside arm instead. used pouncers, gold,silver, black, white and a liner brush. My lil one was going COOCOO, we gotta fix the coocoo clock! the whole time! (mickey clubhouse) lol I had fun and liked the end result, it was a pain to photo though. My arm just dosent twist that way.

Oh, the faerie and the fish are cool! great job to all though! this is a toughie.

Well, here's another new idea/concept I'd never know if it weren't for you guys. I am in awe of your designs, and feeling like I might even give this a go.

just on a side note: jassmine beckett-griffith does a whole section of paintings in the steam punk range. great artist to get some idea's from!

unfortunately have hurt my eye and need to bow out of any painting this month. have no depth perception and would hate to lose an eye lol

I want to give it a try too, have to find the time though! Hope i can make it happen some were, and otherwise it gives me new things to think about!
I have a vacation comming up, so if I find the time I'll do it!

thx 4 the concern nancy. it will be ok. just have to take steroids and antibiotics for it for a few weeks. they 1st thought i had scratched my cornea then claimed it to be a viral infection. lucky me i guess lol. felt like i had been punched for the 1st few days. the pain is now gone and now hopefully my eyesight goes back to normal. finger's X'ed.

ahhh Synni, that stinks. I hope you feel better soon. My son got poked in the eye yesterday morning, and 200 dollars in doc n er visits later he is finally able to open his eye without screaming.

awww eva that is no good at all. poor little mite. thank god 4 aussie health care didn't pay a cent .
my vision is still shocking so hoping it heals soon. i miss my paint lol
