Hello to everyone!

I'm trying to catch up on the posts that I've missed this week and leave an update (not to mention soliciting good thoughts/warm fuzzy feelings if you've any to share.. *S*)

We're still camping. Still without daily computer access.. eyelid twitch.

I posted last week to see if anyone wanted to share the cost of a purchase... no one bit, so I took a big bite and ordered it ALL!
insert that weird "muhahahahaha laugh here

Thanks to Metina and the others for fast service!!!!

Unfortunately, I'm now not going to be able to work all the events that I had planned.
As is the way with the fast aging (moi), there are several body parts that don't function/work as well as they used to work.
I had mentioned that I had to have my Achilles tendons severed/reattached several years ago in a prior post.
Recently, it's been back issues. I've been diagnosed with several severe back problems... (after and have been coping all right with them for the most part.

Fast forward - After taking a class on Wednesday, I was leaving the auditorium where the class was being held. I went to take a step down onto the walkway, and, sadly, my feet didn't cooperate! I hit on my knees first, then hands. After checking to see that there were no broken bits, I tried to think of a way to get back onto my feet... no hope of grace being involved. heh
Several ladies stopped to help me,. and to collect the various and sundry items that seemed to explode from my purse upon impact with the concrete.
Two scraped knees, and hands, and all was well.. mostly. One lady asked if anything was hurt other than my pride; I quickly informed her (with a teasing smile) that at this point in my life, I had very little pride left.
what else could I have said after having wallowed all over the walkway.... *L*

Next day, I couldn't get out of bed. I whined, and moaned, and thought I could tough it out.

This morning - I found out that I'm a major wiener in the toughing-it-out department. Went to the Dr. They are sending me to a specialist. Yet another MRI (bleh)
So... I tried dropping off my prescriptions - couldn't walk well enough to make it into the store. I got several strange looks from fellow shoppers as I turned around and limped back to my car - a bit teary, I'll admit.
I went through a local drugstore drive-thru and dropped the scripts off.

I have tons of meds from prior injuries.. I took a tablet and laid down to rest.

Exciting - received my FIRST corporate call.
Not exciting - None too happy with my conversation - I was woozy, and not as professional as I would have wished. Gave the information... she said that she'd call me... ah.... yeah....

CALL ME
I suddenly hear Blondie in the background... *laugh*

I don't think that one can recover from such a thing.. a bad call.. eh?

And, tonight, I'm supposed to be painting faces Downtown, MyTown TN. This morning, I had to call and cancel. They told me that it was fine, to be sure to come to the event occurring next month. (very nice people)

ugh...!!!!!
I'm seriously depressed about this. I've worked hard to be professional.

I'm praying that the steroids and meds start taking effect. I've got another event tomorrow evening... It's a small function... but, I don't want to miss it!

Next, there's a 10 day Fair starting at the end of next week. I'm a bit wacked about it all....

whew...
smiling a bit

Rambling is good for the soul!

Now, I'm off to get my Forum Fix before returning to the campground!
Have a great evening, everyone!

I'm so sorry...chronic pain s*cks eggs. I took a tumble a couple of months ago and I still have a Harry Potter scar on my knee from it...I HATE getting hurt.

Best wishes and hope things go better for you soon.

Hope you will feel better soon...
It just sucks when you have to cancel a gig...

Try to find a friend or face painter in your area to help you out with things like this... It works both ways!!! I have a back up person, she worked for me when i had a same gig on one day... this way I had the chance to let them both go trough... Otherwise i had to decline one of the gigs...

Hope you feel better soon and find a backup person for the future, one you can trust that won't 'steel' the business....

Take care, love jantien

Oh Kat! That's awful.
But a twisted part of me hopes that you'll take Psalmbook's advice... and then post pictures! Ahaha.

(Psalmbook, I LOVE your sense of humour)

I do hope you get it all straightened out soon and feel better one way or another. Pain and subsequent inability to do the things you want to is just so rotten.
