Is it ok to use other artist face painting pictures to advertise your business or face painting menu?
Since I'm new to this, I have not created my own designs. A lot of my creations are inspired by others work. I wouldn't want to get sued or something for using a face painting photo that I did not do.

Just paint your own version of it. Then you can use your photo to truly represent your own work.

I'm glad you asked this. Smile Using other artists' photos is source of much frustration in the face painting world. If you are just starting out, snag a few neighborhood kids to practice on for pictures, and use those. Good luck!

I tend not to use photos at all as it means that the kids (and parents) just keep asking for the same designs over and over again. I ask each person what they have in mind and then go with that.

I have not yet had a dissapointed look when I get the mirror out.

ETA: I would never, ever use pictures from someone else to promote my own service.

Thanks. This was really helpful. All of the face painting pix are simular any way. I will create my own version of a painting which I have done already. I will give credit to the inspired artist as well.
