Big Event for Easter
Hi forum friends,
We already had a b-day party booked in the late afternoon and got another gig for the morning. I was really excited because this was our first double booking in one day..Yahoo! What my hubby neglected to tell me was the first event in the morning was an Easter Egg hunt with 50-75 kids and of course they want face painting.
I've been face painting for almost a year now, and have come to some conclusions about my comfort zone. I hate doing small designs, like cheek art. One reason is I feel like people are expecting more if they are hiring you, and also not good at small fine details. I like doing simpler larger designs like characters such as hello kitty, dogs, bunnies, etc. Only problem is I can't do that many in 2 hours....so what is a gal to do to survive this event. The b-day party later in the day is no problem there are like 15 kids or something like that so can easily do what I like to do.
Any suggestions on what to do? I was thinking of eggs, simple flowers etc....

Re: Big Event for Easter
pouncer sponge bunny's are super easy. perhaps you could do that also pouncer sponge egg's! you just need two differnt sizes for the bunny and for the eggs slightly sqeeze the sides to make them egg shaped! good luck!
here is a sample of 1 of mine!

First off, CONGRATS!
I have a few simple Easter designs in my gallery if you'd like to see them. I borrowed some (not the picture) from her.. others taken from coloring pages, etc...
I plan on adding grass/flowers/little Easter eggs at the bottom as I have time.
I also have a couple of quick bunny faces that I'm going to do... in white/pink/brown/blue bases...
Then, I have a super fast peace sign that I do using a pouncer... I thought that I could adjust that to boy/girl designs... making necklaces/bracelets/etc with it... then... I have a few 'reg' faces/cheek art on hand....
Good luck!

Limit yourself to a few of your fastest designs. I can do a butterfly in 2 minutes. Use Wordart & not photos. This way you can reduce the detail to the bare minimum.
When I book for super big events I make sure the organizers know how many kids I can paint in an hour(15 kids) and that this is based off of 3-5 minutes a child). You'll never paint all of them. I also offer multiple painters at an extra cost(my daughter).
I always post a sign saying "Face Painting Provided by "Named Company". Face painting will end promptly at 0:00 so I can be on time for a little boy's/girl's birthday party. Thank you for understanding!
Linda :-)
This has worked wonders as it tells the clients what their proper behavior when I close should be. If they get pushy, I just tell them, I really can't make a child cry because I miss their birthday, or something like that. I've gotten very good at leaving on time:-)
