Kitty Cat Designs?

I absolutely hate my cat design. I wanted a kitty on my board a yr ago. It's always a favorite, but I don't like doing it. It's the worst of my work and seeing those kids walk away with my work on their faces makes me sad. I need a completely new kitty. I've googled/searched and not much comes up.

I need some inspiration or direction to a gallery of kitties Help!

I have some kitty face pics saved that I really love but I don't know who the artist is so I don't know if I should post them here (don't know who to give credit to).

This one is fast and a favourite of my clients:



You just brush down 'fur' lines around and then use a sponge for the eye area with one of the colours you're using. Paint the nose and inside the ears pink and then a few black and white lines for contrast. It's fast and great for wiggly kids too. I just skip the eyeliner on the wiggly ones.

I don't think I've ever seen a mask kitty! So pretty and looks fast! That would work for all types of kitties, too!

Yup, any type of cat, any colour, looks great with glitter too. I'm sure I got the idea from someone on here originally.

Although my name is Magna, my business is CATZ (Creativity A to Z) and my daugher's name is 'Cat'riona. Yes...I like cats! Hee hee.

The most simple. She wanted to be a black cat but I didn't want her wearing eyeliner to school the next day! I just left the eye part out, and I actually like it better that way.

I'm loving the black cats! I've always shyed away from black as a base other then Venom. I'm going to have to try it

I have just been working on my cat, I thought I liked my cat untill I started looking at other cats.

I usually start with the outside shape of the ears and the whispy sides with my brush and then blend across the nose with a lighter colour on the sponge. Brush white whispy inner ears and "moustache" and then quick outlines with the black.

CATZ, that's a great quick design... I've got to give it a try on my squiggly 3 year old models.

What brushes do you use -- to start? for the sides and for the white?

How long does this take you to do?

This is what I did on my friend for Halloween:

Gina, I love it! I can see a butterfly in it! Butterflies are what I'm good at so this helps me know how to start

My cat has evolved a bit since this. It's really just a white center & muzzle & then "Big Butterfly Wings" on the sides. I then fill in with cat markings. I know black eyeliner looks better, but I never do it on kids.

I do have a Hello Kitty that I love, similar to yours. Sometimes I'll do a mask and sometimes a full face. I do it with Starblends and it goes on so fast! The little girls are just not into it though They always want a regular cat! Ugg!

I'm going to beg my "little me" to let me practice on her today. Wish me luck!

The pink & orange kitty was done with powders. It was painted in 98 degrees with a heat index of over 100 degrees. Twenty minutes after this kitty was painted a big southern thunderstorm rolled in & blew all the tents away. Gotta love face painting in the south!

I need to make a split cake because it took me 5 minutes just to get the colors to blend decent. I'm still not feeling the face shape. I need to find my style for fur and ears. Maybe I'll do tear drops for fur next time. I love the flowers and dots though

Great kitty! For the blending I double load the sponge & lay both colors at the same time. They blend easier this way. I'll then use the backside of the sponge to further blend it.

This is what I did on New Year's Eve on my niece:

I was chatting w/ a friend the other day, and her daughter is about 13 months old. She says 3 words and one of them is KITTY CAT. It's her word for 'AWESOME'. It made me giggle and now I have it stuck in my head.
