Hello from a brand spankin' new face painter
Hello everyone! I am brand new to this site and to face painting in general, but the few experiences with it I have had so far have been wonderful, and I'm rapidly being sucked in. I know pretty much nothing about face painting (I've focused my efforts all on canvas up to now), but this site has been a great resource so far and I've been loving looking at everyone's galleries.
I decided to get my own kit after I got to volunteer at a booth for a charity event not to long ago... I was working with a pro painter who brought her own kit, and had a blast playing around with it. So now I'm trying to practice up a bit and see if anything comes of it... so far I'm hooked! I love painting in any capacity, but this is the most fun I've had with it in a long time.
Any advice you can give me for starting out (or threads you think I shouldn't miss) would be much appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to the group!
My advice: You don't have to spend all of your monies getting one of everything. Start basic (you can mix any color you need) and work out your technique before putting down some serious cash. Otherwise, you'll need to join the 12-steppers around here who can't stop buying things!
