It sounds like you'd post one picture of the complete design, and then verbal step-by-step directions? That would solve your problem Shannon. Very Happy

It would. But of course step by step photos help other painters grasp the design better. Submit what you have Shannon and maybe by the end of the challenge, you could paint it again and take photos then? Just a thought.

PS You know how we just all love those step by steps. I may have to make it, its own area!

Ohhh eeeeeeeeeee hehehehehehhehe

PRETTY! WOW. Love that one!! Smile I'm doing two harvest festivals (a few days before Halloween and right on it) and BOTH are church events and have specifically requested no witches, goblins, ghosts or spooky scary stuff!! I'm happy to comply, but I just know the kids are going to be asking for 'contraband' face painting! hehe /sigh I really wanted to paint some scary spooky faces this year!!

Direct quote from my 23 month old upon seeing your painting Shannon... "Wow! Take picture, mom, take picture!"

Too cute. Thought you'd like to know, you're even impressing the toddler set! Smile

Does the Halloween Face have to be typical Halloween themed scary stuff (witches, ghosts, goblins, etc) or can it also be something like what Kids would want for dressing up...ergo, I just did this Tiger Face and have step by steps!

Edit: I reduced the link to the thumbnail...click for close ups. Thanks!

Sept./Oct. Challenge Heathe10

I've not posted a picture from a site link before...so trying to get this pic to post! Might have several 'edits' on this post!!

Update: YEAH! Got it to work. I'm not used to the BBCode...duh...now I understand! Smile I was using the wrong coding. Smile Ok..so do we post the step by steps here too...or wait to see if it is wanted?

Good Question. What if we post the end result here and the step by steps in the albums. I am working on upgrading the albums and this will be much easier to post and share real soon. Keep up the good work.

As to the question, my thought behind the challenge was only Halloween, but to get things rolling, I think we would all agree that Halloween Costume faces would be acceptable as well.

How about the 'Step by Steps' in the 'How did you do that' section. Then it's there as a tutorial anyways. Smile

Cool....I just know there are ALOT of kitty faces at halloween...it's a classic! Smile Plus...isn't all face painting kinda of 'Halloween fodder' by it's very nature! Smile hehe

Hey now, who knows what skin color the dinosaurs had Smile

She-Rex is more violet and pink Wink ....haha...

Besides the Wolfe Brothers' book has it in greens (and so does yours, Shannon) and I wanted to make it 'mine'...so I changed the colors. It was purple or blues! Purple pinks usually win out with me. Smile

Mmm, well...I know Kathy just painted a wicked awesome 'sugarskull' face...I wish she'd upload it!

I'm just doing a bunch of them anyway...for Halloween and the 'Business Portrait Builder'. Having fun and figure it might inspire someone to upload their stuf too! Mmmm....come on ladies!!

Don't worry about 'original' stuff...just do your own version of one you like. Nothing is truely original...we're all affected by the images we've seen....and each face painting is unique, even if done by the same artist.

Besides...you really will love that Kryolan Interference Bronze!! It's uber cool 'gold'. Smile

Maybe all the other ladies are so busy 'booked' they don't have time to put up a new pic for the contest!

Thank you for the comments. I was starting to wonder if I was posting too many of my latest creations (eeks) Embarassed . I'm just in the 'newly excited' stage still! haha

OH, I do have one other idea on why there might not be more pictures. Posting here is kind of a pita. I have to upload to the gallery first. Then go to that picture in the gallery and click the 'copy' button for the thumbnail size and then copy that to a post here.

I know it's convoluted, but it's the only way I could get pictures to post here. At least you can then click a thumbnail and it'll open the the full sized gallery picture.

/shrug (boggle)

Maybe that will help anyone that hasn't uploaded because they are still figuring it out!!

I post my photos as links... to my server. I haven't put the ones in the emails in my gallery. Click on the image icon (the one that is a photo - it is the 7th one from left to right) and a box pops up that asks for a link. I just cut and past the address of my image to the box.
