Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
Hiya,
Just calling for anyone who has recently purchased any of the new colors to share some samples with the rest. I have held off with demos due to limited availability of these. I did cave in and add the metallix orange to my kit and will share a sample soon. I want to come up with something other than a tiger(any thoughts).
But the others Metallix Black, Old Gold, Baby Blue, Fushia, Patina(Oxidized Bronze), Orange and Copper would be so nice to see.
Thanks!

I would LOVE to see a demo of the Oxidized Bronze, Baby Blue and Metallix Black - please share! (I THINK I saw Lilly Walters using the Oxidized Bronze on a design in Vegas and I loved the colour - but I can't remember exactly, and can't tell just from the pot...)

Kristal,
What are you doing up so EARLY?!?!?!? I didn't know anyone else was up. I woke up at 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep.

Ahaha well, it's 3:14am here...it's not that I'm up early, it's that I haven't actually gone to bed yet...
It's a bad cycle, I know; I'm a night owl as it is, and I like to get as much done as possible before bed (left over from school, maybe? I could never get up early to finish things, so I stayed up late.), which makes me want to sleep in, and ergo I get a late start...yeah.
So...bedtime now You should try get another hour or two in, too!

It is baby blue and old gold. They are all so pretty, but didn't have time to make designs with all of them.

Re: Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
Wow! I like the baby blue, its looks like a very pretty silver that has a good shine in it, better then my normal silver. How did you manage to make such a good picture of these metallics? I always struggle with that, the light in it always gets too much lost.
I have the metallic orange, the copper and the old gold. I also wanted to buy the bronze and the baby blue, but did not allow myself to spend more this time.
I love the old gold, it covers good and it has a strong shine to it, I also like the bronze,.. the orange is also nice but the coverage is clearly less good then the other DFX metallics and the shine is not very strong. The colour is nice anyway though. Here some quick photo`s:
Colour on top is the copper, right is the old gold and the left one I do not know is ehm,..
Edit: Can I call for Snazaroo electric blue? I heard about its magic : P but cannot buy or see it here. Does anyone have it here?

Re: Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
I just used the camera on my mobile phone. But the trick is to get less directional light than normal, since it blows out the highlight. Try having a pol filter on your camera, it act like sunglasses, but so little that it don't alter the colour a lot.

The pol filter sounds interesting,.. I am not sure though if I can attach one of those to my camera.. or maybe it is part of its functions aready? Not sure. Its a new one, and I still have to figure out all the things it can do, still learning (which is great fun).
Suzy Sparkles, thanks
On this photo it looks a bit like the DFX metallic blue, is that right?
Re: Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
It is a filter you attach separate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photographic_filter, like a pair of sunglasses on the lens.
But would think that by having a light source that is all around, and very soft, it would also help. Any photographers here?

Re: Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
Mmm, ok thanks!
That makes me come to the conclusion that I do not need this Snaz blue, its quite simulair to the DFX.

Re: Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
Tried a small comparison between Interferenz and DFX metal black (and DFX normal black). Sorry for the unsharp photo!
The Interferenz is more sparkly - even though some of it has to do with I dropped some glitter in by accident - and I had more trouble getting it even and covering. But it washed of faster than the other.
The DFX is going on as easy as normal black, but is lighter. It is not crazy metal glitter all over the place, but more have a shine to it. Think it would be nice for cat and dog noses and when you want a black that is not black black but still covers well.

Sweet picture!
Does the Int. black work easily for line work? How does it compare in that aspect to the DFX Metal. Black?
Thank you!!!

Re: Calling for the NEW DFX Metallix Samples!
It is possible to make linework with both, bot I found that is was a lot easier with the DFX metal, especially at the end of the lines did it stay sharp, where the int. black faded out faster. If making teardrops, I found it harder making them with the fat end last.
When first applied, they are very much the same, the Int. just a bit more sparkly - like tiny bits of glitter.
