shirt design feedback needed
I am trying to design a cute, simple t-shirt that I can wear at festival and restaurant gigs to let people know that I am the one doing the face painting. Here is what I came up with, and I was wondering what you guys thought of it. The colors will probably be different because this is just a concept design, and I still haven't come up with a business name, so the title "face painter" is subbing for it.
I look forward to hearing what you guys/gals have to say.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
It is all right. Straight forward and to the point. Just enough to start a conversation.
Are you comfortable with a white shirt? I have ended up with paint on every white shirt I have worn while working. (Little spirits must be messing with me).

The white is just the template color. I am probably going to go with black, as paint wouldn't show up on it as much. Here is one in black with one of the leading contenders for my business name.
Re: shirt design feedback needed
For a quick uniform, the face painter one looks fine. I would not get one with a business name on it until you decide what that is going to be for sure, because then you would have wasted a shirt....but just a generic "face painter" can always be worn.
Just curious...
What design program are you using?
Are you printing it yourself, or ordering it from somewhere?

Re: shirt design feedback needed
Doesn't Metina sell simple shirts and bags with profession face painter written on them or the like?
Sorry I'd go and look but my isp keeps dropping out today.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
I wear black and get my shirts embroidered with my logo - I use Queensboro no set up fees and 4 pcs minimum always having great sales - I have been very happy with them.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
I'm actually going to stencil the shirt myself. I've been stenciling stuff as a hobby for a couple years. It's a pretty easy process, even with difficult designs. Below is a shirt I did a while back, so you can see how the stenciling looks.
As for the shirts Metina sales, they are nice for more professional gigs, but I want something bright that will attract the attention of the kids at the restaurant or festival that I am working.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
I like the just "face painter" one myself in white. Actually I would love to trade you some supplies to make me one.
I have embroidered ones made as well, but the logo is only at the left chest area and can only be seen close up.
I would like something larger as well. Let me know if you are up for a trade.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
I sent you a message Metina.
I think I will make myself one in white and one in black, then see which I like better. I will probably do it tomorrow, as I will need it next Thursday at Chuck E. Cheese's.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
I was wanting to get a shirt and was holding out for the same reasons. But another big question I have is, is it better to have something on the front or on the back?? On the front is good if your back is against the wall or walking around. But if your painting I think it would be better to have it on your back. Also, should you have all your info like phone # and website or just the fact that your a painter is good enough?
Thanks,
MeLisa

Re: shirt design feedback needed
MeLisa, I prefer to have the design on the front because I've found, in my experience, that it is easier. But it is really up to you how you want it.
I am not putting any of my contact information on the shirt because my contact information will be on my sign. But if you come up with a cool design that included your contact info, by all means, put it on there.

Re: shirt design feedback needed
I put my name (FacepainterKimberly.com) on my apron and not the shirt. As for putting anything on the back, my hair is long if it were not, lots of people watch from the back, so that is a great place to put info.
