Hi all.

Complete newbie here. Where's the best place to get a (not expensive) manikin head suitable for practising face paint on?

Thanks,

Jo

Some hairdressing schools sell their mannequin heads they use for practice hairdressing and haircutting.
Some do given them away.
The Face Paint Forum Shop (the colourful rectangle above) sells practice heads.

Happy Practicing!

I thought we don't use those any more, they stain really bad and they are scary if you want to use the picture for your menu, and some times they don't show the colors really good, instead I would recommend practice boards they show up the colors very nice and you can use the pictures for your menu

and if you want white or light colors to show up, or just want it to look like a real face, you can put a sheet of paper, vinyl, fabric, etc, in any shade of skin tone behind the practice board, and take your photo of the design.
