that could help, you could try different colors and see how it goes.

i use gold under red to keep it from staining, and it doesn't lighten the color like white would. maybe a similar tone would work.

your choice of light colors in this deaign is good though, to give contrast. some colors almost disappear if they are too close to the person's skin tone.
