Monster High... Designs anyone?

Hi all!

I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for Monster Hugh designs that are NOT just simple the whole face painted the character's colour, eye makeup, and lip colour. It's frustrating me to no end that kids always want to "look like" the character, and I can look at a picture and make the colours and makeup happen, but in the end, I'm sure all bystanders see is a green face with some eye makeup, lipstick, and a scar. Do you folks have any suggestions for designs that are:
-Contained to a mask?
-Cheek art?
-Avoid painting the entire face one colour!?

As long as they show me an image to copy I don't mind the Monster High faces.  I don't watch or know about cartoons etc. so have to have the visual.

It is about what the kids want to be so the full face is pretty much it for Monster High as they are pretty distinctive.  It is their fantasy after all.

I have seen artists do the logo as an eye design.

I think the girls prefer the full face. I like to use powder as a base for the face, so it's not opaque. Looks better in my opinion. The MH emblem could be painted on a cheek as well as the skeleton with the bow (also makes a great full face design).

I smell a potential competition theme

Oddly enough I rarely ever get this as a request. :/

It is a pretty small demographic, but I've seen it around my area.

I keep a photo album with the dolls pics. If I get asked to do MH I usually just paint makeup similar to the dolls with very exaggerated eye lashes.

I'm a super geek btw. I use my 9 year old daughter as an excuse to be a part of MH Fandom. I think she has at least one character of all the dolls. No barbies in this house lol. We even remodeled her Barbie Dream House to be a Monster High House.

I don't like full faces so these are the ones I do, I mixed different versions that I saw in this forum.
