Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
So the thread of random had us all posting photos of our pets and kids. And lets face it, my pets are just too awesome not to be the first post on the front page.
POST PHOTOS OF YOUR PETS AND KIDS HERE!
They can be old photos, new photos, pets your once owned, or kids you once owned (adult kids ), or even friends/relatives kids and pets you are close to. Go wild.
When posting, say at least something about the photo, like if it's your pet/kid, or some one else's, their name, who else is in the photo, how old they are in the photo, or when the photo was taken. Can be all or only 1 thing, but at least say something.
Me first, me first!
Here's my reptiles.
All rescues/adopted
Gladys:
She was found on a busy street abandoned by her owner (for sure not a wild turtle, there are no wild turtles here, and many other reasons). She had shellrot, and we nursed her back to health. We guess she's about 5-6 years old, she's been with us for 2 years being spoiled rotten. She doesn't like being picked up, being out in the open, or new people getting too close. She loves peas and bokchoy, redecorating her aquarium, basking, and shoving herself into awkward places around the house.
Lightning:
He belonged to a 10 year old boy who no longer had time for him. We was well taken care of, but the boy had too much on his plate with soccer practice, cello, band and other activities. What was first merely taking care of this little guy for the summer while they were abroad, turned into a full time adoption when the family decided he was better off with us. We've had him since July 2014. I love making him little costumes, giving him baths, taking him outside, and he loves watching TV with us, sneaking under the TV stand, and sitting on the windowsill. He doesn't like Cookie.
Cookie: (our newest addition)
Cookie came to us through a friend of a friend who didn't read her new rental agreement properly when it said 'no pets' it didn't just mean furry kind. Cookie was one of many exotic pets she had to find a new home for. When he got him, his enclosure had hardly ever been cleaned properly and she was feeding him a very improper diet. All that changed now that he's been with us for about 2 months. He's only a bout a year and a half and VERY orange (he's my pumpkin pancake). Males are very aggressive and territorial, so Lightning would kill him if given the chance, so they live apart. Unlike Lightning, he's not fond of baths, but loves running around on the carpet after crickets, playing hide and seek, and taking naps on us. He also loves his tree. <3
Now post pictures of your pets/kids and comment on each others!!

They're all three so awesome! I adore Lightning's costumes... that's brilliant. I've always loved turtles. I've never owned one but I have rescued several wild ones out of the highway and moved them to safety.
I'll be back with pictures of my fur babies :3

Re: Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
Here we have Stache (the black and white one) and Beastie (the fluffy tabby). We've had Stache for almost 3 years... he was found by a friend as a tiny kitten and we raised him on a bottle. Beastie we've only had for about 7 months... my husband found him in the dumpster behind his place of work. He put him in a safe place outside hoping his mother would come around but she never did, so we brought him home and raised him on a bottle as well. These are our spoiled boys. (Please ignore my colorful pants )
Here we have Monique. She was a stray we found at a local historic park. We fed her and carried her to all the nearby homes asking if anyone was missing a cat. One woman just told us she'd been thrown out up there months ago. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving her, so she came home with us. This was actually when my husband was just my boyfriend and visiting from his home in the Netherlands, so Monique has been a part of the family for 6 years. She's our sweet princess.
And last but not least, our little hermit crab Barbossa! We actually won him at a carnival. I wish I could have gotten all the crabs they had.. their tank was filthy and it made me so mad. >< Barbossa was missing a claw when we brought him home, but we've had him now for about a year and a half.

Re: Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
Michelle, my daughter...
Most often referred to as the mini-me, because she's just two drops of water with my old pics..
She was about 5 in these pics:
And nowadays she's a 'grown woman' of (almost) 11 years old
Me and my mini-me:
This is Kitty, Our houses queen
When the mini-me was whining for a brother or sister, she got the cat as a baby sister, with the instructions to be very nice to her, because she's still a baby. She could even choose the name, so she picked 'princess annelise'... After a moment of envisioning myself standing at the backdoor hollering 'princeeeesss aannelliiiiiiiiiiiiseeeeeeee'!!! I very gently explained that it would be a very long name, and the baby cat probably won't understand it
She then picked 'hello kitty' as a name, which quickly transformed to 'kitty'
She arrived at our home when she was still a little too young, the vet said it wasn't responsible for her to be away from her mom already and she might become a 'difficult' cat because of that...
Her mom was a Norwegian Forest cat (apparently very expensive and SOOOOO FLUFFY) that got out one day and had a night of mad lovin' with a street cat. The (snobby B-word) owner wanted the (in her eyes inappropriate) kittens out ASAP, and lied about how old they were.
This is the first day she arrived at our home:
And this is how she now is (4 years old)... She looks fat, but it's all hair, she's a really skinny cat with a lot of fluffy going on
Another family pet, though not living at our house due to 'artistic temperament' with our house queen, is our family 'puppy' (and I use the term lightly): Kunta
He lives at my dad's house
For reference: Yes, that's my fully grown sister sitting next to him... And Nooooo, he's not fully grown on that pic

Good gravy, I have way too many of each: 3 kids, 1 stepkid, 3 grandkids, 7 cats and 2 dogs (anybody wanna adopt?? they are all available). LOLOL
2 yr. old Presley, 7 yr. old Emma, 4 yr. old Brylie (the 3 grands)

Middle daughter Taylor, 20 and son Colton, 18

Re: Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
Lol, no FF, I attacked him with a sharpie. I saw a cute little meme that said "if you are having a bad day, draw eyebrows on your dog to cheer you up" so I was and I did lol
Re: Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
So many cute kids and so many cute pets! Aaah, the adorable factor is too high! :3 Great pics everyone.
Re: Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
I've hatched chickens a few times. Still my favorite picture.
^And here are two previous rats I've had- the sweetest sisters, Tally and Shay. Craigslist woman had to move, and I hadn't had pet rats in awhile... I'm glad I took these two in. They were fed hamster food, and I am pretty sure were kept in an aquarium, which is unhealthy for ratty lungs. Tally, the blond one, was determined to perpetually clean my teeth and the inside of my nose.
And here's my current sweetheart, little Lucy. She's from a pet store, very shy, jumpy, but a super explorer. She's still learning to trust me, but as of now she likes me more than any other human so that feels kind of nice! And she's a perfect shoulder rat! Loves to hide in my hair, and will happily ride on my shoulder while I do chores around the house.
I've had a total of 7 rats, two cats, 4 rounds of chicken hatching (total of 40 chicks), and at one point an extremely docile and friendly young squirrel- just for a handful of days (:

Eyebrows on the dog made me way happier than it should've.

Rats can make such wonderful pets! We have a pair now (Peanut and Muffin) and another pair before that (Pip and Nibbles). Very sweet.
Here's my family:
Here are some with my kids and Pip and Nibbles. Pip is blonde and white and Nibbles is brown and white. I miss them.

Re: Post Pictures of Your Pets and Kids!
brrrrr, chickens *shudder*
I'm really scared of chickens, When I was young (todler) there was the tradition that children were given chocolate and chicks for Easter. One of those was a really mean rooster after a few weeks, and he attacked me
