Is 'FABA' trademarked? Empty Is 'FABA' trademarked?

Post by Snickell Tue Feb 24, 2015 3:05 am

Hey all!

I'm in the middle of putting all my social networking shenanigans together, and am wondering if 'FABA' is trademarked or copywritten or whatever? The full name of my business is 'Fairytail Face & Body Art' but 'www.fairytailfaceandbodyart.com' and 'www.fairytailbodyart.com' don't look as good or work as well for my particular niche as 'www.FairytailFABA.com' would.

Would I be okay with using FairytailFABA for my website and other social networking domains (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc) or would I be encroaching on FABA TV's (Face and Body Art Television's) domain???

I don't know if it is trademarked, I somehow doubt it. It is an acronym used fairly commonly in the industry so I don't think it could be trademarked or registered.

I've seen it used by lots of artists and companies.

yes FABA is merely an acronym so it shouldn't be a problem.

here's the link to the us patent and trademark office (uspto) trademark database.
i searched for "faba", 14 results. searched for "fairytailfaba", no results.
looks like if you combine "faba" with other terms, you are ok.
