Hi,

I'm a professional hair and makeup artist, also Speciall FX makeup. I am just starting to dip my toes into the face painting world. There is so much to learn and I am looking forward to meeting some great people and receiving awesome tips and tricks!

Thank you! I'm in the process now of trying to add more split cakes to my kit. Any tips from anyone?

I love split cakes! They make quick designs that really impress. I have one from Tag that is my favorite called Havana Sunset I use for my butterflies and the girls really like it. A few One strokes that I have are Dragon, Leaf, Unicorn (just bought the neon one) and INdian Princess. I think they are all Tag too. I also made a bunch myself with DFX and Tag paints. I have a whole palette for specific designs. Be careful though they can be addicting Wink

Havana Sunset is beautiful. Indian Princess looks interesting also. I have read Dragon and Unicorn are a must. I want to make my own but the paint I use is Paradise AQ and another website said its hard to work with.

you can always experiment with some strips from a few cakes.

one person suggested rolling the paint into little "logs", placing them side by side, them pressing them down.

Hmm...I might try that. Someone told me the Paradise AQ crumbles when cut so I'm afraid to mess with it.
