Vote Now!
Re: Vote Now! Ends June 11th!
I don't mean to complain.... but this display is not the best. The photos are TINY, all the subtle details are GONE.
The ones with the thicker lines (that register as good when it's a small pic) are in the finals? Does that seem right? All honesty I thought #5 would give me a run for my money, but it didn't.
Seems like the votes were split with my two entries having 6 votes compared to the other two having only 4 each. Lesson Learned, I will NEVER put more then one entry in ever again.
P.S. I didn't vote. Nor did Aryn. Didn't think it right to do so on a contest we entered. But I see now that us voting would have made it a triple tie OR even put us in first if we both voted.

Thanks Forest-Fairy!
I think all of the entries here deserve applause for their work.
They may not be the top 2....but I think, from an artist's point of view, #1 was a really good one.
Forest-Fairy....I liked the way you did the wrinkles around the mouth and the neck...that was super cool!! Your friend Aryn....looked like Sean Connery!!! Awesome!
There was another entry that I liked, which is not here for some reason. It was another young guy aged into an older gentleman. Great job!
I think #6 did a wonderful job and the way she did her half face aged and the other half young...was amazing!
#3...it is so tough to make a young child to appear aged. There are practically no wrinkles as a guide that can be deepened. I think you did an awesome job with the little boy!!
All my above mentions have one thing in common, as Forest-Fairy has mentioned on another thread, the aging looks natural. It does not look painted on. I would like to applaud you all for your efforts and that I do admire your work!

Some didn't make it into the vote because you MUST post step-by-step photos (or video), not just a final look.
Being great painting isn't enough to get into the contest.

Re: Vote Now! Ends June 11th!
There was no mention about the Step-by-step rule in the rules and guidelines for this contest that I am aware of.
This is my first time entering a contest, so I might be mistaken.

Yes I think they are all good. I liked the kid one, and the old man as well looked neat.
All I'm saying is that combined my entires have 6 votes for one person. and That I'm very upset that i entered two things, if i just would have entered 1 thing, I would have won maybe. OR if I voted and Aryn voted I would have won. I just feel like the universe is punishing me for making extra effort AND for not voting for myself. It's VERY frustrating to feel like you were doing the right thing, only to get pooed on.
There were no rules for step by step for this one, but if there were, I have that covered.

Heck I didn't even enter my work with latex makeup, I didn't recall the rules saying anything that it had to be JUST paint.
How's that's for real looking?
But AGAIN I wanted to be fair to other artists entering so I didn't enter this as a third entry.
I'm just really ticked because this seemed to ALWAYS happen to me in online contests. Last one was for best halloween costume.
We entered this
but people commented that they were voting for some other entry because they didn't want to vote for a 'store bought costume'. I had to frantically post photos of the making of it because apparently it was too good to be homemade!! But too little too late.
Online contests hate me.

Well, I'll be. SBS has always been part of the rules and I assumed it was with this one, too. Guess that's what I get for assuming.
Metina, why did that change?
Part of the reason we do these challenges is to learn how to do something, hence the SBS.
Meanwhile, Forest Fairy, I love that age makeup. The latex is so realistic.
And the Werewolf is WOW!

Re: Vote Now! Ends June 11th!
I think number 5 is the most realistic. I guess it depends on what you are looking for with the best "aging makeup" - realism in 'life' view, or 'theatrical makeup' or 'greatest change from the person before or after"...etc.
Depending on the answer, the results could be very different.
Great work everyone!

Thanks Henela! That was my goal. ...to look aged naturally. I am glad you like #5!
Re: Vote Now! Ends June 11th!
Yeah I really thought #3 was also genius with the little kid.
Perhaps we should have also posted the actual ages of the models. I mean im only 26, so there is only so much you can do with paint alone. In my experience in film its always easier to make some one at least 35 or older look way older then they are .
Not much of a challenge at all really. I would love to do this again only on a teenager or something. Now that would be the real challenge.
