Brush Allergy? Empty Brush Allergy?

Post by PoP-PoP Sat Jan 02, 2010 9:03 pm

I was painting in a restaurant and one childs, parent declined a facepainting because she said her child will break out with bumps(like zits how she described it) just from a brush touching the face. I explained that I use approved paints...etc. But she said it will happen with a clean brush. Anyone else heard of this happening? If so, what light can you shed on this?

Never heard of it, but I haven't been around much. Even with a natural hair brush, most people are allergic to animal dander, not the hair itself. But, some are allergic to sunlight, so who knows. scratch

Nope never heard of it either and neither has a well know UK face paint shop I asked.

Hmm, wonder if its a mistaken allergy from something else, like all the ones who blamed face paint until we found out it was the baby wipes they removed it with.

But you never know- I met a kid allergic to sea water when i was a field studies teacher!

Never heard of it either. It could be interesting to know if it was both natural and synthetic brushes. And if they was cleaned in something special. Also if it was a one time experience.
