Video tutorial editor? Empty Video tutorial editor?

Post by l!zzie Tue Jul 30, 2013 2:25 am

I'm thinking about making some video tutorials on wuppie painting.
I love how some people make the most beautiful vids!
I have to learn a lot before reaching that level, but let me start by these questions:
Do you use a video editor and if so, which one?
Is it free? Simple to use or do you need more skills? What do you particular like-dislike about it?
Thanks in advance! Xx

Microsoft Movie Maker is a great free one that I use. There are fancier ones (like I'm frustrated that I can't separate the sound from the video like I can in my other editing software) but I find myself going back to Movie Maker because it's so easy to use.

Lizzie - do you have an iPad? I use an app called Avid Studio, it works great! You can add transitions, separate audio, add music, it also allows you to do audio voice over. It's a really simple app to use.

Hi Hun,
I go back and forth between Video Pad and Windows Movie Maker. Movie Maker is super easy but, does not have as many options as Video Pad. Sometimes I just forget that I have Video Pad LOL! I'm glad you're feeling better and you should definitely make some Wuppie vids. Your designs are super adorable!! Smile

I use IMovie on my computer!! Is awesome! I prepared a video from my daughter's recital at the end of the season! To the video i add music and pictures too! Awesome! I even cut out a lady crossing in front of my camera while filming! And i know nothing about making videos!! Very Happy

I have iMovie on my iPad, but I still think Avid Studio is better and easier to use. Pretty similar to iMovie, but easier to use and learn.

Video all done, but can't get it on youtube!
It takes very long and in the end I get the message, something went wrong, but don't know what...
Maybe it's too long (14 minutes)?
This is definitely no hobby of mine.......

For a 14-minute video it may take a long time, but now sure what error you are getting. What does it say?

One of the easiest, yet quality video editing software out there is Movie Studio by Sony... in my opinion anyway. I do use Adobe After effects though for effects.

What works best on an Apple Computer? Can Pinnacle/Avid work on my Apple computer? (Don't have an iPad or laptop). My pc crashed & burned & my daughter & son-in-law bought me an Apple for mother's day...Boy was I surprised & delighted. It's a learning curve for me, now, since I've only dealt w/pc's.
