Newbie Challenge #20--Red: I feel my soul on fire!

OK The Title of this Tread is from Les Miserable!
If you have not see it/heard of it---it is AMAZING! Musical Theater at its BEST! They just released a new movie version of the Broadway show here in the USA--anyone else see it? I was singing the song as I typed the heading!
ANYWAY--

With the valentines day challenge going on I didn't want to do a love theme--so I am doing the Colors RED and/or PINK---But here is the kicker---You can't use the color White or Black in your design. Use any other colors (and don't mix colors to get black--that is cheating!)

So I am talkative tonight and you all have to suffer (WHA ha ha ha!)
I decided to do this because I did a monster face on my little boy and used the normal green/light green split cake for the base and white for the horns, but I only had dark blue on me (and was too lazy to go and get my black) so I used Dark blue for the outline and details--OK IF he would have stay still long enough to do details, but he didn't, so I just image it in my head, BUT It turned out really good. I liked the color contrast and the blue made the face look totally different, maybe even better.

So take a risk this challenge--even if you fail we want to see it so we can learn from your mistake OR improve on what you did and maybe find a great face that works for us!

So enjoy your Red/Pink face with no white or black.

(No, I do not "self medicate" this is what happens when I am stuck in the house for a week straight with very little adult contact!)

OK last little bit---If you have ideas for challenges please PM them to me--someone, I am sorry I forget who, I have a terrible memory, sent me a great list and somehow I deleted them all!

anyway here is a little background--a group of french young men are trying to overthrow the government are asking themselves if it worth it. One of the main characters Marius has just met the love of his life and now he has to decide to join his "brothers" to fight or to to follow his love.
seriously this musical is amazing--so many amazing plots and unforgettable characters

Red...love it! I had originally planned this design for the Valentine's Day challenge, but I really don't like the execution. First design on "Sally", my new head from a beauty school. She was harder to paint on tan I thought!
P.S. Les Mis was amazing!!

Secondly - ohhhh Amy. I went to see Les Miserables with my friend Bryar last Sunday. I'm glad we took tissues. It was AMAZING! I'm with you on this one - if anyone hasn't already seen it, they should. Utterly beautiful.

Not very happy with my attempt. I meant just to put bling around the 3 love heart shapes, but for some unknown reason also outlined them in the brown I was using for the bud bases!

I was going for a sort of "Sleeping Beauty" sort of vibe, with thorny, tangled vines and buds. I also stenciled my lips!

It looks nice Kammy!

I am still in the spirit of the bling bling masks so here another mask, but instead of white lining, I used silver!

creabella--What colors did you use? I really like the outside of the eye color!

I used from inside to outside: pink of the partyxplosion palette, superstar color 101 (cyclaam in dutch), and the red of the partyxplosion palette, but I turns out a bit more orange. For the outside lining around the silver (from partyxplosion) I used neon pink of partyxplosion.

Nice painting Sandie! How is it to paint your new model?
I have bought a head but do not find it easy at all! The paint slides differently and it stains!!

Good job Paola! I found painting the model head a bit tricky. Yep, and she is stained. I didn't have any hairspray to spray her first to prevent the staining. I really want to do that design over again on a real person, but no models want to pose except my Bella, and she's a sickie right now!

Thank you Sandie! I don't like the heads also for that reason.
