facebook fan page

I am thinking about making a fan page for my face painting, but I do not have a business yet. I am still in the practicing stages, but I have been posting my pics on my facebook page. Have any of you done that, or only when you started your businesses? What would you advise?

Go for the business page now. What's the harm? And cw has it that to get a good ranking, your website needs to be up for at least a year. Jmho

Yes I put it under entertainer. Of course the address is wrong because Facebook wouldn't recognize my town... Oh well. Don't fret about replies, sometimes it takes a while but opinions will trickle in, probably all different! . I'm pretty sure I'm not ready to charge, but I have a fb page and a website up and running anyway because of that year for the search engines. And when I registered my website with the free party planning sites, I went with enterTainment then too.

Well, I do not have a website yet either, so there are pictures of the facepainting on my facebook.
Besides that, here in Holland we have an internet social media program, simalar to Facebook, called Hyves. I use my hyves page just for the facepainting untill I feel confident enough to make or get a business website for the painting.

Yeah i have barely started and not getting alot of practice time in, so i for sure am not confident enough yet. And I want to be prepared so I have been doing alot of Googling online and sometimes psych myself out. In the beginning when I would post my pics nobody would really say anything, little by little they are starting to take notice and it gets me excited. I would like to open a fanpage and just start posting my pics there. Thanks for the input

Everyone I know has moved to FB.
