Re: Face Paint and Body Art Convention in Las Vegas
I've registered and am stoked to be going! My next step is to figure out which pre-convention class I want to sign up for...haha
I got the $275 early bird fee - and even adding on flights, hotel, food and the vendor's room (!!!) I think it's definitely going to be worth it.
I spoke with Karen the other day, and she said she's going to be sending out a packing list...thank goodness, haha.

Would love to!!! But think I will spend the money getting an eye surgery, so I can get rid of my glasses.
Re: Face Paint and Body Art Convention in Las Vegas
Ooh, laser eye? I had that done over 5 years ago - and I LOVE not having to wear glasses or contacts anymore!
Re: Face Paint and Body Art Convention in Las Vegas
Yes, I have a appointment December 14th. Still can't believe it. What kind of laser did you get? On top of the eye or under the cornea?
Re: Face Paint and Body Art Convention in Las Vegas
Hey, Dec 14th is my birthday!
Lasik - and it was under, so yes, they did have to cut. I was in the operating room for only about 5 minutes though - super fast! I had to wear sunglasses outside all the time for the first week (even at night - lot's of Corey Hart being sung, haha), and eye guards to bed for a while. There was a bit of discomfort on the first day, so I slept
It's been SO worth it.

Congratulation! (I like to be in good time)
I still don't know what kind I will get, depend on what they recommend on the day. My eyes are a bit sensitive
Since it is rather dark here in December, I would not have to wear sunglasses all the time. Hope my eyes will adjust fast, it is really hard making plans when you don't know if you can see ½ or 1½ weeks later. When could you work again?

Haha, thanks!
Have you gone in for a consultation? That's when they recommended lasik for me. (My dad got PKR (PRK? I don't remember) the week after, so we both, I believe, had slightly different packages of reading to do beforehand. See if they have info/can do a consultation!)
The sunglasses weren't only for keeping out sunlight - they were for helping to keep debris etc from getting into your eyes - and so they recommended bigger sunglasses.
I also went in the day after, the week after, and the month after for post-op checkups. (And bought into the 5 year insurance plan, which, at the very least, let me get annual check ups each year)
Uh...I was in rehearsals for a show at the time, and I'm pretty sure I was straight back into it. (My dad had a slightly longer recovery time) If I remember correctly, I went in late in the week (maybe a Fri?) and was back at rehearsal by the middle of the following week. That said, everyone's different, right? Talk to the doctors there, see if there's a general amount of time for recovery - they'd have a better idea!

Re: Face Paint and Body Art Convention in Las Vegas
I was at the consultation this Monday. That - with checkups are part of the package. Also a new operation, if the sight is not completely as it should be. That is nice to know =)
Think I have read almost all I could find, but haven't figured out if one is better that the other, it did not sound so. And many was recommended the other on the day, so I just stick to what they find best. That way I will not be disappointed.
(the recovery time seems to be very different from person to person, so I will just try to keep the next week free)

Yeah, I had that same option of an additional surgery if the initial one started to ...recede? Luckily I didn't have to use it, but it's nice to know that it was there if I did.
I guess as long as you're with a good, reputable clinic and the doctors know what they're doing, that's what matters. I guess that just confuses me a bit because I got told straight away which was best for me I guess that goes back to everyone being different, and some people being obvious choices for one or the other, and there's less of a distinction for others?

If you can get a Harrah's reward card - must get them at a casino.
You can get a room rate of $50.
