This will be more abstract that some of you may like... But it's part of a progression.

I have one question.....do you ever paint women? Just wondering....not that I don't like looking at the men, but just curious....

Yes sometimes... in fact will be working with several ladies on this project... One of the reasons I decided to focus more on body painting, was there are SOOOOOO many face painters in this area. Well, there are a lot of body painters too, but most of them work 95% with women.... so, I figure, go where there market is not saturated.

Amazing work, I like the first one the most.

I like the first for what it is suppoed to mean, and the second because I challenged myelf to do 99% airbrush and managed to do so.

All the chris cross laces are painted on. On the neck, the two that are dangling are real on the legs the two inside dangle lacesa are painted, the two outsode dangly ones are real.

Well... you know that place in life around age 25 where: You are done with your experimenting, you aren't a pretty sexy 18 year old but you're coming into your own, you are trying to figure out how to keep your youth and grow up, and you are dealing with all the expectations put on you as well as what the media is teling you to be and do.....

The skin has been unlaced and intentionally resembles a converse high-top shoe (Which he wore in some of the pics as well- also unlaced) a typical symbol of casual youth in the media, under the skin you see white, like a porceline doll but cracked at the edges. Under that the eye of the media, a mouth inside a frame- like a TV- talking about what you should to with your time and your heart....

Wow. That's powerful! I see it now. Well, I see it through my own filters and life experiences anyway.

From my perspective, having spent 17 years in early childhood education, it's a bit like the nature vs nurture debate, to the extent that people still question if we are who we are because of how we were originally wired or because of how the external world re-wires us? Well now... the way I see it is that that depends a lot on how we fare through the struggle/battle over our identity as illustrated here in this body painting.
