So NERVOUS!

Today is my first day of my first 3 day PPF event. I was invited to participate by a friend who is running the kids zone. There will be two other FP but located in different areas of the festival. I will be charging a flat $5 half face. The other painter charges $5/$8 and is not as detail oriented as I am (no fancy teardrops or rainbow cakes, etc). I am just nervous, what if no one wants my faces???

Just make sure that you will say something if you are in a crappy location. Sometimes if you are in a kid zone it isn't a parents-with-wallets zone so just promise me you'll speak up if you find out your out of the loop.

Laurie - you are ready, girl! Don't sweat it. Remember, the first few faces seem tediously slow until you get into your groove.

There is not font big enough to type how much it SUCKED! I am directly next to the other face painter...she is very nice & we are charging the same, but the little college girl up the way is wicked undercutting....I painted 3 faces today. I would have asked to move, but am there as a favor to a friend who is running the kid zone, and she wasn't around today...I am debating about tomorrow, I have better things to do with my time...

ok, attitude has been adjusted! I have not paid for my spot, so tomorrow I will plod back there & make the most of it! Here is to a fun-filled face painting day!

Had a fun day today, but of course a monsoon blew through, after that, attendance was low, BUT people were choosing my designs over the FP next to me! I heard parents in line trying to coax their kids to the other gal because she had no line...no way said the kids, we want this face painter. I also overheard a mom respond to her daughter's question of why she had to stand in line, and the mom said "because this is ART" woooo hooooo! another child was making a nearby free craft...and asked her mom if she could get her face painted-mom loudly said "no,it is not worth it" and the mom whose daughter I was painting at the time told her off, saying " the picture I will take of my daughter when this woman is done painting her is PRICELESS to me" weee DRAMA...over my talent!
