You'd think they'd use Jinny's stuff because she sort or represents the pallets but she obviously showing pictures that have nothing to do with the product. "How hard would these designs be without these paints" and then show Arty cakes and body painting, hair coloring, etc.

Should we say something or are you writing them already?

Gina should flag it as inappropriate and a pop-up comes up and asks you why and you can list it as copyrighted material. Youtube will probably pull it themselves. Hopefully.

I sent them (would you beleived they are on my FB friends list?) a cease and desist with a deadline.

Once it is dealt with... they are off my list.

I have a whole bunch of people trying to friend me on Facebook that only have 3 or so shared contacts...I think you just convinced me that I'm not friend-ing anyone without a personal note along with it...they used to have that built in.

Sorry, if you want to friend me, please send me a note first so I know who you are. I want to interact with you at least a little before I friend you. Smile

I actually posted on my About page that if you want to be a friend and I don't know you to send me a message too.... one person has done that.

I will check out random friend requests but if I see no connection to FP or BP or MUA I won't accept the request.

And I have started weeding out people I don't know or can't figure out what the connection is... I went a little crazy at first accepting all requests. Now, I am getting more discerning. Partly due to my work ending up on other people's pages....????@!!!!!!!@

That's what's so weird Gina. Good find.

Makes a person no so "friend"-ly anymore Shannon...I mean they are your own faces...what's up with that?

Mine was done with Grimas... I don't even use Mehron at all!

I do appreciate the heads-up when you discover my work - I don't spend too much time looking at other places on the web, and don't watch YouTube etc. So... please, if you see me anywhere let me know. I don't give permission to use my work unless it is MY material... so if it isn't my sites/pages or listings odds are it is stolen.

I dunno guys. I definitely understand why we are sensetive about our pictures being stolen by face painters. It's aweful when people try to pass off our work as their own, (your work, I should say, cause mine hasn't been stolen), but I can honestly say, this wouldn't bother me one bit. They are using examples of your beautiful work as a reason to buy the paint. They aren't saying they did it. I would be flattered. Just sayin. I might get a lot of flack for that opinion, but there it is!

I am pretty much certain that NONE of those paintings in the stolen photos were done using THAT product... therefore, more than one CRIME: photo theft AND false advertising.

And I am not, nor have ever been, flattered when someone steals from me - I still haven't forgiven Glenda for stealing my Barbie (knock-off) in Grade 4.

If the photos are free-use, copyright free, put out there by the artists who say "use them with my blessing" fine, use them. Just taking them from the source location (in this case my blog - one of a few that I neglected to watermark) to use in ADVERTISING of a non-related product is quite simply breaking the law.

I AM flattered that they used my picture, particularly since it is not my best butterfly and I did it early on in my fp career. It was quite a shock to be watching the video trying to find swatches of Prisma cakes and see myself smiling at me! I don't like that they are using MY face and my painting without my permission though, and I really don't like that the photos were not made with the product they are advertising. I knew if I alerted Shannon, she'd be on them like a dog on a bone! Lol.

I think it's just wrong. Period. If they are going to use someone's photo they need to ask. They know better. Period.
What is kind of amusing to me is that Shannon is allergic to Mehron. Hmmm..... Uh NO?
Idiots.
I understand what you are saying Kat, really I do, but to me it's still just wrong.

Thanks for making us aware of this problem. We agree to remove the photo or the complete video if needed. Let us know which photo it is so that we can edit it out of the video.

This is the response I got... hope you guys sent him a message too. I did say in my response to this that, to the best of my knowledge, the other photos were not using their product, and were probably being used without the artists' consent.

And I did identify the photos in my cease and desist... must be a standard response.

He's making out he wasn't aware of using stolen images... yeah, right. Suspect

I noticed those too..... How hard would it be to do that without prisms cakes??? Maybe ask the artist who did those, or an artist that actually used the product.

Like Linda, I am really shocked because they are on some of the FP forums on Facebook and definately should know better than to use another artists work.
Wow.
Then add that none of the photos seem to represent the product anyways. Makes no sense and really misleading to the general public.
