Sugar Skulls I did recently. pic heavy
Had some fun with some awesome models and a photographer friend (Oktober Hollow Photography). Thought I would share.
not crazy about the necklace flour with the tab still on it. and I definitely see my mistakes.
I went very BecStar approach, so I cant say they were all my ideas. I had some help from everyone on here.
Have I ever mentioned you are all THE BEST!

Nice. Wish I had a photographer friend ; ) would be so nice to get some decent photos. I really like the jewel you used in the second pic.

Love the mouth on the first---but the third is my favorite!

I love the colours and the eyes shape, specially on the second one!

so glad you posted! I was approached about a Puerto los de Muertos (I probably butchered the spelling on that) just yesterday and haven't a clue where to start on the sugar skulls.
Anyone else have pics they care to share?

Absolutely gorgeous!
If you dislike the tab on the jewelry in the last photo, that's a pretty easy retouching job to do. If your photographer friend also does retouching, maybe ask them to try to 'shop it out?

Oh my goodness, these are beautiful! I love the 3rd as well. Stunning! The shading on the first is so cool. It looks very 3 dimensional. Awesome.

What kind of paint did you use, particularly the white base? They're really beautiful.
Re: Sugar Skulls I did recently. pic heavy
I use all Tag from Metina here at the face paint forum.
I just posted more photos of them on my facebook page. I dont wanna flood anything on here.
I can even begin to say how awesome you all are and how your kind words make me blush
I've only been painting for a little over a year. I just hit my year anniversary June 2nd. But i would never had been nearly this good if It hadnt been for everyone on this forum.

You did an awesome job! I can agree with you on everything you said about the amazing painters on the forum, I've only been at it about 6 months and everything I've learned has pretty much been from here.
Kat, thanks for that thread, you rock! It's so perfect, I love this forum and everyone one it!

These are great. I love a nice, clean sugar skull. Thanks for sharing your sugar skills! (Get it? I said "skills" instead of "skulls" cause it takes skill to . . . oh never mind . . .)
Re: Sugar Skulls I did recently. pic heavy
what did you use for the base? is it light powder white or did you just put the white base on sparingly? the art and photos are very beautiful!!!! im not even seeing the tag you are mentioning...all looks very great!

These are absolutely beautiful! I've never painted a sugar skull - wouldn't know where to start - but I'm so inspired by these. They look so delicate, otherworldly, spooky but utterly pretty at the same time.

really beautiful work, and great inspiration for me. I have a family coming in for a private booking --Halloween party, she emailed me pictures and I have some ideas to share with her as well. The colors you used are gorgeous.
Re: Sugar Skulls I did recently. pic heavy
Wow. Your words are so kind. I used two different color bases. PEarl White and reg White, both Tag brand. I would love to see everyone else's sugar skull!
