Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
Ok so I was at Michaell's, and I was checking the kids crafts line, and I saw this face paint section and was tulip brand face paint products (they are not recommendable) and also glitter tattoos, so I was curious to try the glitters ( who knows maby not the paint, but the glitters can be good) I bought the magenta color (very nice pigment) and black color too, I juts try them at home, in a butterfly tattoo, so I mixed with my regular glitter I use to see if there is any difference between and my it was not good at all, first the glitter it was actually more like powder, so I need several loads to complete the space, the glitter it was super super fine, so all the shine that most have was gone, ones again nice pigment, but the quality not good for a real glitter tattoo, Did you try it? How was your experience whit it?
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
Haven't tried them. But, I did try their brushes when I was in a jam. They suck and fall apart. It was a clear indication that the quality was poor. Thanks for the info.
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
Thanks for the tip, actually the brushes catch my attention too, good that I didn't buy them, the paint are very bad too, stains and the tilt color I got suddenly start to melt down and the color was literally licking
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
I actually like their glitter and glue and glitter brushes. I still use it all the time. It's always a sweet deal with a 50% off coupon. Their face paint is scary bad... except for the silver.
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
Someone posted the ingredients and there is aluminium in the glitter? I also find the red washes out- like the pigment comes off the glitter.

I missed that post. Well, at least it doesn't have lead... (hopefully!)
I don't do a lot of glitter tattoos right now... only for the birthday child at parties, so it suits my own needs just fine. However, my booth partner uses the ginormous American Body Art Pro Kit.

I will check if the magenta and black washes out too, I will hate to use them on a client and after told them that last from 5-10 days just washes of at the first shower
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
I bought the glitter, glue and stencils because I'm in the learning stage and didn't want to spend too much when I'm just using it for practice. The paint is terrible and I wouldn't use it at all. I

I've only used the glue, and it seems to work well. I bought a big bottle of Pros-Aide before that and the tattoos would wear away after like 2 days. With the Tulip glue it's about 5 days.
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
I LOOOOVE Tulip glitter and their glue is THE BEST. I have tried ybody pink glue, and prosaide, and Tulip is the better than both of those. I use their glitter all the time for face painting and I have used it for tatts in the past with no complaints or problems. I will buy their glitter again for sure.
Re: Tulip brand "glitter" puaghh!!!!
I recently bought a pack of the tulip brushes at Michaels. They were on discount for $2.49 (instead of around $13). They were really poor quality... very hard and brittle and would not load well or make nice lines. Would not recommend them at all!

Tulip (Face and Body Art) in a nutshell:
The face paints suck - with the head scratching exception of the silver.
The face paint brushes suck - apparently no exceptions there.
The glitter tattoo stencils kit is worth the money if you use a 50% off coupon.
I haven't tried the spray temporary tattoos.
The glue is my favorite. It's oh so tacky... just like me.
I still use the glitter for tattoos and face painting both.

They have a couple different types of glitter actually. There is the super fine cut not very reflective type (black, hot pink, light blue) and then there are coarser cut more reflective colors (gold, silver, red, magenta, royal blue). I like the reflective ones and use them all the time in my FP designs. The super fine ones remind me of the Mama Clown glitters.
I agree about the brushes and face paints though. The silver is good, the white and black are ok, but the "colors" are terrible. I even returned the orange because it actually came out yellow! The store manager agreed with me that it was NOT the advertised color and gave me a full refund.
I have no interest in the spray on tattoos other than the stencils look like they might be a semi-decent quality. I'm not a fan of the glitter tat stencils though.

Thanks so much for that post about the difference in fineness of the glitters.. I was wondering if you could use the glitters for face painting...I have some of Mama Clown glitter and I love it. It just sparkles so nice and glittery. i found the tulip to be more coarse. There is a whole thread about tulip paints from when they first came out.

for us liking the tulip brand glue for glit tats.. i looked up tulip on the internet and they post no msds sheet you have to call... So I called left a message and I got a response in about 3 days (no big deal). The packaging says ( hold on need my reading glasses) acrylic polymer and water.
The Sr int'l sales rep said that the glue does contain synthetic latex...and she sent me the msds on the product.
Is synthetic latex and latex close enough to the same thing that one would not want to use due to allergies???
