Belated, but as promised - my magnetic set up, inspired by LadyJayde!

Not my full set up as this was taken after getting home and wanting to air everything out, but it's the paint portion, anyway. brushes etc are off to the right side.

Ha - have you seen some of the other kits on here? Razz If it will fit into one of these 2 cases, I will add it in! Just waiting for some more magnets so i can put together more splits Smile

The one strokes all go back in the same spot after each brush load (or within a 1 spot radius, anyway) so I always know where to go for each Smile

Very cool Kristal. I made mine up with Velcro and it looks nice. However, little black fuzzies appear and I don't like that. So, I am sure I will try this soon also. Smile

OK girl you need a bit more detail here! I seem to remember these were crayola cases or something. How is one to copy your creation if they don't know how you came up with it! LOL

Very cool! I can just see how easy it is to snap it shut and take off! I'm so glad you found something to work for you! Oh...did you find a good source for the magnets? My source is not long a good one...can I have yours? lol pm me!

As far as paint...ahem...that's not much, really. I just finished making a jam kit using Whitney's brilliant jewelry display tray idea and despite filling up all 64 slots, I still had to weed out 15 or 20 colors that didn't make the cut. I personally carry a steel lined mehron case full of splits and one or two of my black cases with about 24-30 paint pots in each (and most pots are 2 color splits...more colors...less room). I think Kristal uses splits more hence the motherload, but nah...she's nowhere the tackle tart Shannon is...

Nobody is... *smirk*

Thanks for sharing Kristal!

Jody - that's one of the reasons I went with magnets instead of Velcro. Plus Velcro is bulkier, it would be harder to rearrange (barring a full sheet of Velcro on the bottom), and it seems like it would be harder to keep everything clean. Razz

Metina - LOL! You're right - my bad. I will take more detailed photos when I come home. But yes, they are Crayola kits! I actually bought a couple more as they were on sale (originally bought 2 @ $15/each, then they went up to $30/each - and when I saw them for $6/each I had to grab more...)

LJ - I just ordered more magnets, lol...they've added shipping now! Dang. But hold tight and I'll get the seller for you (I should be lugging my all-season tires out of the shed now to go get my oil changed, not typing on the forum...ha.).

I REALLY wanted to use the black jewelry cases you'd linked to me once upon a time, but had just bought these and couldn't justify spending even more...some day.

Haha, I LOVE splits...yes, most of my designs use a split somewhere...but Shannon will always beat me Razz

Unless it's re: Wolfe white. I have 10 of the 90g suckers waiting for me, and number 11 has just been sacrificed for more splits...

Photos to follow!

What are you using for your splits?

My scrappaper holder that was holding my paints and my extra splits just broke. Crying or Very sad I loved it! And of course there are no more to be found.

angela go to hobby lobby..to the far right side of the store and to the storage boxes,,,i have the sterilite case..its about 12x14 i can put paint on both sides....there is a link here on the forum...walmart has them when school starts but not now. these are great cases and sturdier than the scrap book case..i have 2 with paint on both sides and the dfx inserts on both sides and the case still has room to close properly

Love your magnetic setup Krystal! cheers Looks great!!

Did you glue the metal sheets down or glue magnets down then "clicked" the sheet on top? What have you got covering the metal sheet?

Tell us all about it - please?

Well, I'm not sure how Kristal did hers, but for my kit I glued the magnets down and covered the sheet of metal with thin black cloth (taped on) and clicked the sheet ontop of the magnets. That way i'm able to pull up the sheet and toss the cloth in the wash should it get dirty.

Thanks Lady Jayde - your magnetic setup is inspiring and I've read the original thread many times. I'm still in the planning stages but would love to have something similar one day.
