Well this weekend I was doing an event - it was a really hot day and kids were running around. My Wolf white & black started to get sticky and bit gooey. I took out my Ben Bye palette (which I dislike using because it soaks up all the water and turns back to dry) But it REALLY holds up. Remember Ben Nye is used more in theather because on stage the light can get very hot and performers are dancing/ jumping about on stage. I wouldn't invest in all colors - one or two colors for your extremely hot day.

Im in FL, its always hot.. I have some Micas?? no Ben Nye yet... I am also one of those face sweaters and I can not paint my face for events.. I want to stop the sweat all together if its possible, or at least slow it down... I will definitely get some Ben Nye powers, sounds like you can sweat thru them with out the run issues, right?

It didn't smear with the humidity....some people have a hard time with Ben Nye cakes because you have load with with alot of water, but in humidity weather it was perfect. I was referred to that brand by an artist who does theater painting for stage work. Hope it works for and others in high humidity areas. I have the 12 color palette called "Ben Nye Magi Cake 12 color". Cost me $45.

I've tried Ben Nye Final Seal, Ben Nye liquiset, Mehron Fixer spray, and Kryolan Fixer spray. My advice if you are trying to use any of these on the face of kids, save your money. Some have strong alcohol smell, other don't work, and mostly kids don't want you spraying anything on their face. If you are wanting to use something on adults, I liked the Kryolan Fixer spray best. I'll use it on my face to keep from sweating designs off but it's a tedious process. Spray area to be painted, let dry, paint design, let dry, spray again, let dry, spray again & let dry. If an adult wants to have their design last, I'll offer it, but they know they'll be standing around for the next 10 minutes for the setting process.

I don't have experience with this product, but I've heard about other people using this product successfully in the haunt industry.

When I did clowning (many eons ago) it used to get crazy hot under the wig, full makeup, gloves and costume etc - I used "proface no-sweat" under my makeup and then their setting powder. It didn't stop it completely, but it helped.

On hot sweaty days for face painting I find Starblends work well for bases.
